Delays and cancellations suddenly increase
Mr. HT (Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City) shared that he had a business trip to Hanoi but was constantly notified of flight delays, affecting his work schedule. In just 5 days, he was "involved" with two delayed flights of Vietnam Airlines .
Once three and a half hours, once four and a half hours. It is worth mentioning that both times, he only found out when he got to the plane's door. According to Mr. HT, the electronic board also did not display any information, and the staff explained that the plane had not arrived yet.
For example, last night's flight VN258 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi was delayed three times, changing the original flight time from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and then to 10:10 p.m. The airline then announced another delay until 11:30 p.m., a full 6 hours later.
Mr. HT's story is not an isolated one. Many flights operating at Tan Son Nhat have been announced to be delayed but there is no specific flight time. This case happened with Vietjet .
For example, flight VJ895 from Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi (India) was scheduled to depart at 7:25 p.m. but was delayed until 11 p.m.
The airline then continued to announce that there was no flight time because the airport did not allow check-in, so passengers complained. However, after 30 minutes, the airline completed check-in procedures and the flight departed as normal.
According to passenger feedback, flight cancellations have occurred. For example, the flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa, the airline had to cancel the flight with the initial reason that the flight crew was running late and could not make the next flight. The airline took the passengers back to the terminal and continued to resolve the issue according to the airline's regulations.
As of noon on April 22, there were no specific statistics from the management agency on the number of flights and passengers affected. However, the reality at the terminal showed that many customers were still having difficulties with their flights.

Flights starting to stabilize?
Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , the leader of Tan Son Nhat International Airport confirmed the chaotic situation regarding the operations of some airlines.
However, the situation has been improving since noon today, and it is likely to be more stable by the afternoon. Tan Son Nhat has reported the incident to the Southern Airport Authority and the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for timely adjustment.
According to the airline's announcement, this morning, airlines will continue to adjust flight schedules at Tan Son Nhat from 8:30 to 9:30 according to the airport's schedule to serve the April 30th holiday, so it is expected that operations will continue to be affected.
Previously, yesterday afternoon, bad weather at Noi Bai forced many flights to land at Vinh, Hai Phong airports... waiting for the weather to stabilize before continuing their journey, causing chain delays.
That is part of the reason for flight delays and cancellations in the past two days.
One of the notable news is that Vietjet and its partner SAGS - a subsidiary of ACV, have just ended their cooperation in providing full ground services including check-in, baggage handling, elevators... at Tan Son Nhat.
This information was rumored a year ago when the airline started purchasing ground service equipment at Tan Son Nhat, preparing for a self-service plan in the future as it has implemented at Noi Bai airport.
Increased travel demand during the April 30 holiday and the new T3 terminal, combined with many flights having to be adjusted due to thunderstorms in Hanoi, have affected operations at Tan Son Nhat airport.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has announced that it has set up a team to inspect the operations at Tan Son Nhat.
