In late October and early November, when the terraced fields begin to show off their golden color on the slopes of Dai Duc (Tien Yen) mountains, the festival "Golden Season of Soong Co" of the San Chi people here is also held.
Terraced fields in Tien Yen have been formed for many generations. With a rice growing area of over 500 hectares and farming experience, the people of Tien Yen highlands have transformed the rice-growing land into terraced fields, creating a very unique beauty in the communes of Dai Thanh, Dai Duc... Coming to the land in the Northeast of Quang Ninh province in late October, visitors will see layers of terraced fields winding and stretching from the top of the hill down to the valley. The yellow color of ripe rice, the white color of clouds, the green color of forest trees, all blend together to create a vivid picture. And perhaps there is nothing better than in the middle of autumn with the dry yellow sunshine like pouring honey, immersing yourself in nature, watching the golden terraced fields and listening to the immense palm waves of the San Chi people in the highlands.

At the end of October, when the golden rice begins to bloom, showing off its golden color on the terraced fields, it is also the time when the Festival is held. As an annual activity, the Golden Season Festival of Dai Duc Palm Waves always has a harmonious combination of tradition and contemporary, both bringing the beauty of nature and the good traditional cultural values, unique customs and practices of the San Chi ethnic community in the district.
Praising the spirit of hard work, creativity and traditional education of our ancestors, the spirit of solidarity in the community, preserving, conserving and promoting the unique cultural values of the San Chi people, the Festival is also an opportunity for the San Chi people in particular, and people of other ethnic groups in the district and neighboring areas in general, to gather here for cultural exchange. Recreating the beliefs and customs of the San Chi people, the "Plant Prayer Ceremony" ritual is like a thank you to heaven and earth, praying for favorable weather, for all species to grow and flourish, for a good harvest, for peaceful villages, and for every family to be well-off...
The series of festival activities is extended in the vibrant atmosphere of traditional sports competitions. At some golden season check-in points, many bamboo stalls and golden season viewing points in Khe Ngan and Khe Lac villages have been renovated and renewed, creating favorable conditions for visitors to admire the rice waves like soft golden silk strips in the vast space.

The festival space has truly opened up before the eyes of visitors unique experiences imbued with the ethnic identity of the highlands. Excited faces and eyes sparkling with joy... Cheers encouraging players to participate in collective games imbued with community culture such as tug of war, stick pushing... And on the terraced fields in the distance, the rice is also whispering and singing, rejoicing with the people in the festival. Because a golden season of prosperity has come, and it is also this golden season that has brought Dai Duc the potential for tourism and economic development and improved people's lives.
Dai Duc today is not only a village where San Chi people have lived and worked for generations, but is gradually becoming a land that cannot be missed in the journey of exploring tourism in the Northeast region. Possessing potential for landscape and unique cultural values, along with shaping the development of community tourism, Dai Duc is gradually becoming an impressive destination in the hearts of tourists.
From the effectiveness of the first steps, Dai Duc commune was recently selected by Tien Yen district to pilot the construction of a community tourism model. In Na Mo area, Khe Luc village, the first brick house of the commune has just been restored as a homestay to welcome tourists. The homestay here still retains the traditional features of San Chi stilt houses, wooden floors, surrounded by bricks, and roofed with yin-yang tiles. In front of the main door, two small wings were added for farming tools. The fence of the yard and garden is stacked with stones without the need for mortar or plaster. The houses all have 5 bedrooms with a capacity of 18 people, in addition to a large yard where people can perform Soong Co singing, Tac Xinh dancing, spinning tops, etc.

According to Mr. Hoang Viet Tung, Party Secretary and Chairman of Dai Duc Commune People's Committee, the commune is currently promoting and encouraging people to renovate traditional houses of the San Chi people into homestays on the basis of preserving cultural characteristics to attract tourists. In addition to community tourism, we also aim to restore traditional festivals and rituals such as the crop praying ceremony or community activities such as singing "song co" and ethnic sports to create cultural highlights when placed in the beautiful and majestic natural landscape of Dai Duc, which will contribute to maximizing the potential of this land, developing tourism and improving the quality of life for the people.

Through research, it is known that Dai Duc highland tourism has been included by the locality in the overall project to complete infrastructure, promote tourism potential and strengths on the basis of connecting with border localities such as Binh Lieu and Ba Che to exploit, combine and promote tourism development here. This is opening a "door" for Dai Duc tourism to be more widely known, with the opportunity to develop more strongly.
