Speaking at the event, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh was moved to recall the contributions of generations of soldier journalists who devoted themselves to serving the Fatherland, the People, and the Party, contributing to building the great revolutionary journalism career that beloved President Ho Chi Minh had established.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, today's generation of journalists is luckier than their predecessors because they do not have to write articles in the midst of bombs and bullets, but they are facing a new and arduous battlefront. He said: “Every day, we have to overcome thousands and thousands of 'fake news', and face the 'storm' of chaotic information from social networks. Every journalist today must become a 'border guard' in cyberspace, protecting readers from the wave of cultural invasion and sophisticated distortions from outside the border; must constantly race against the speed of the internet, learn how to use new tools every day, while still maintaining the character of a true journalist.”

The Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper emphasized that in the context of a world that is changing every second, every minute, the generation of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists today still maintains “bright eyes, pure hearts, and sharp pens”. Journalists are willing to continue the tradition of “being both red and professional”, continuing to write the epic of revolutionary journalism in the language of the digital age, to follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, continuing to write the glorious history of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people.

Returning to the source is not only a historical field trip, but also a journey of gratitude, reminding each journalist of their revolutionary roots and traditions, fostering ideals and professional spirit.

The program is also an activity to "fuel" pride, confidence and determination to contribute efforts and intelligence to build a press and a journalists' association that is increasingly strong and developing, meeting the requirements of political tasks in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
