The radiant beauty of journalists on the way to conquer Ta Xua peak

This is not an ordinary sports competition. The goal of the participants is not about medals or rankings. What makes them willing to challenge themselves is the great and meaningful purpose that the Organizing Committee has set for this special tournament. They - journalists, athletes with the mission of being storytellers with their hearts, spreading the beautiful things from Ta Xua peak to readers.

The mountain climbing competition “Steps on the Clouds 2025 - Conquering Ta Xua Peak” is organized by Vietnam Law Newspaper in collaboration with Tram Tau District People's Committee and Hung Viet Trade and Tourism Company Limited. This is a competition exclusively for journalists - those who are familiar with pens and keyboards, not with dangerous roads or strict physical training conditions.

Therefore, the Organizing Committee hopes that with each step on the clouds, journalists will have the opportunity to feel and experience the most genuine emotions about the beauty of Tram Tau - Yen Bai. From those experiences, journalists will bring stories of the highlands to readers everywhere, spreading the beauty of nature, culture and people here in a vivid and authentic way.

Not stopping there, the tournament also hopes to contribute to creating positive changes, helping the lives of Tram Tau people, which are still facing many difficulties, to become better day by day. This is what makes the mountain climbing journey not only a physical challenge, but also a journey of responsibility, compassion and love for nature and people in this remote but beautiful land.

However, the journey to conquer Ta Xua peak is not easy. With a climbing distance of about 12km, including dangerous sections on the top of the mountain, known as the dragon's spine - at an altitude of nearly 2,800m, the journalists had to use all their strength, concentration and will to overcome. The terrain is steep, the wind is strong, and there are deep abysses on both sides. Just one minute of carelessness can lead to danger.

There are sections over steep cliffs, sections over slippery roads, and sections through bumpy mossy forests... Each step is a challenge, requiring persistent efforts from each participant.

Sweat, dust, and fatigue were evident on everyone's faces.

But, through the lens of photographer Thanh Mien, that journey was captured in emotional photos. The photos exuded the radiant beauty of the athletes of this special Sports Tournament.

They are not beautiful because of their neat clothes or elaborate appearance, but the beauty that radiates from their bright smiles, their steadfast eyes amidst difficulties and the joy that bursts out when they set foot on the mountain top. That is the beauty of will, of effort, the beauty of courage in every step and the beauty of pride when taking in the majestic image of Tram Tau - Yen Bai.

At the end of the journey, 100 journalists returned with tired legs and sweaty shoulders, but each person's heart was full of experiences and emotions. And from those experiences, they will write authentic articles, conveying the beauty of the Northwest mountains and forests with what they felt from their hearts during the journey of "walking on the clouds".
