National U17 Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup 2024: SLNA lost the second match in a row

Not having the same feeling of sublimation as the U13 juniors who won the national youth championship, also taking place on the afternoon of July 13, the U17 SLNA players continued to lose in the second round of the national U17 finals. The second consecutive loss pushed SLNA closer to the risk of being eliminated from the group stage.

PVF early won ticket to continue after 4-0 victory over SLNA

After losing 2-3 to the home team BRVT in the opening match, SLNA entered the match against PVF with determination on the afternoon of July 13. However, they were powerless against a stronger and more evenly matched opponent, and the young team from Nghe An lost 0-4. With this big win, PVF took the lead in the group with 2 wins and quickly secured the first ticket of group A to be present in the quarter-finals.

In the remaining match, BRVT faced difficulties against Dong Thap , who were determined to win to keep their hopes of competing for a ticket to the next round. The young players from Thap Muoi region took the initiative to control the game and organized many attacks on the BRVT field. In the 40th minute, from a free kick, the ball was passed inside and Tang Quy headed the ball to open the score 1-0 Dong Thap.

The goal helped Dong Thap get more excited and just 2 minutes later, taking advantage of the carelessness of the BRVT defense, Phu Cuong shot from a distance to increase the gap to 2-0 for Dong Thap. The two quick goals left the BRVT players stunned, they continuously pushed up the game to find a goal to shorten the score, but still had no chance.

In the second half, the home team tried to push up their attacking formation to find an equalizer. BRVT's strikers created some notable opportunities but failed to capitalize on them. With this defeat, the home team BRVT dropped to 3rd place in Group A and Dong Thap ranked second due to a better goal difference.
