Vietnamese flight management and operation enterprises have safely operated 12 million flights, achieved total flight operation revenue of more than 75,000 billion VND and paid more than 36,000 billion VND to the state budget.

At the 30th anniversary celebration of taking over the management of the southern part of the Ho Chi Minh Flight Information Region (FIR Ho Chi Minh), the Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM) announced its proud achievements: safely operating nearly 12 million flights, total flight management revenue of over VND 75,000 billion and paying over VND 36,000 billion to the state budget.
In 2024 alone, VATM will reach a new milestone with nearly 1 million operated flights, an increase of more than 10% compared to 2023, while maintaining service quality exceeding 91% as assessed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Mr. Le Hoang Minh, Chairman of the VATM Board of Members, emphasized the historic moment at 0:00 on December 8, 1994 (international time), when ICAO officially transferred control of the southern part of Ho Chi Minh FIR to Vietnam.
This event is the result of 18 years of efforts to invest in modern infrastructure and train human resources to meet international standards. According to Mr. Minh, this is not only a big step forward in economics, technology, diplomacy and defense, but also a foundation for VATM to enter a period of strong development.
Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the great contributions of VATM over the past 30 years.
He affirmed that VATM has risen to become a strong state-owned enterprise, with modern infrastructure and highly specialized staff, ensuring safety and efficiency for domestic and international flight operations.
However, the Deputy Minister also noted the major challenges facing the aviation industry, such as rapid growth, the need for high-tech applications, and strict flight safety requirements. This is the driving force for VATM to continue to innovate and affirm its position in the international aviation sector.
