This season in Duc Linh is not only home to orchards laden with fragrant fruit and vast fields of golden ripe rice, but visitors to this mountainous district also want to stroll along the large ponds and lakes, admiring the fragrant pink lotus blossoms carried on the breeze. Since it's lotus blooming season, this is the best time to explore and enjoy the refreshing scent of the pink lotus.

The late rains have made the golden rice fields of Vo Xu town even more fragrant with the scent of ripening rice. Early in the morning, farmers are already busy preparing for a bountiful harvest. With rice fetching good prices, everyone's face is beaming with joy. In the distance, beneath the lush green rows of betel nut trees, a vibrant pink lotus pond displays its budding flowers swaying gently in the breeze. It's a peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful rural scene.

Our next stop on our lotus viewing journey was Mr. Le Dinh's nearly 15-hectare lotus pond in Nam Chinh commune, Duc Linh district. It was the lotus season, so the pink lotuses bloomed profusely, covering a vast area. Mr. Dinh said: "This year the rains have been slow and there's been plenty of sunshine, so the lotus harvest will last longer than usual. Those admiring the flowers don't need to rush, fearing that the coming seasonal rains will flood the La Nga River. To truly appreciate the flowers, you have to get up early, just as the sun rises. At that time, the flower buds are just beginning to open, still covered with morning dew."

Duc Linh District boasts the largest area of lotus ponds in Binh Thuan province , with nearly 300 hectares along the northern and southern banks of the La Nga River. During the lotus blooming season, the fields south of the river are more beautiful than a painting. These are vast rice paddies beside the river, laden with fertile silt. And there are lush green gardens laden with fruit, interspersed with vibrant pink lotus ponds nestled at the foot of Bao Dai Hill.

We traveled north across the river to find Mr. Hoang Xuan Hoa's lotus pond in Sung Nhon commune. This is considered the most beautiful lotus pond in the area. The pond, about 5 hectares in size, curves gently, embracing the vast, fragrant rice fields. Mr. Hoa explained: "My family has been cultivating lotus on our ponds for over 10 years. The lotuses begin to bloom at the beginning of the third lunar month and finish in June when the water level rises. The beauty of the lotus pond changes from its early stages of bloom to its peak, making it hard for viewers to leave. During the peak blooming season, viewed from afar, the lotus pond resembles a curved pink silk ribbon embracing the golden rice fields. The sound of the wind and the birdsong create a serene and beautiful natural scene."

We took a boat ride on the lotus lake to experience the tranquility of this peaceful and beautiful countryside. The small, wobbly boat gently carried us, weaving through the lotus leaves and buds. The early-blooming flowers had already spread their petals wide, revealing their bright yellow stamens, truly beautiful. The ripe lotus pods swayed in the water as the boat glided past. A rich, intoxicating fragrance enveloped us, a truly special and delightful sensation.

Pink lotus flowers not only beautify the countryside but also bring economic benefits to growers and those engaged in agricultural labor. Many families not only cultivate lotus but also engage in the business of lotus-based products. They form women's groups and associations to create jobs and generate income for them during their leisure time.
