When put into operation, Long Thanh airport will need many connecting roads. Therefore, the addition of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 will facilitate passengers and goods to and from this airport.
Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 is about 200km long, with the section passing through Dong Nai alone being 45.54km. This project promises to completely change the face of traffic and logistics in many localities, creating a new economic corridor where the route passes.
Traffic connection to Long Thanh airport is currently of interest. In the photo is the large intersection between Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway and T1 road connecting to the airport.
The total investment capital of Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 section through Dong Nai province is about 24,000 billion VND. Of which, the cost of site clearance and construction of access roads for people is more than 10,000 billion VND, and the construction of the main route is 14,000 billion VND.
Phase 1 of the project is invested with a scale of 4 lanes, roadbed width of 25.5m. The road is divided into two component projects. In which, component project 1-2 will be the site clearance and construction of residential access roads. And component project 2-2 will build the main route.
The project starts at Thua Duc commune (Cam My district) bordering Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, then passes through Long Thanh and Trang Bom districts, then connects to Vinh Cuu district and ends at Thu Bien bridge, bordering Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces.
Particularly for the section passing through Long Thanh airport, Ring Road 4 will run parallel to National Highway 51 and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway. Thus, goods from the Central Highlands provinces will circulate to Binh Duong, then follow Ring Road 4 to Long Thanh airport and Cai Mep - Thi Vai super port or Phuoc An port of Dong Nai.
Ring Road 4, the section across Long Thanh airport, will run parallel to National Highway 51 and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway.
In particular, Dong Nai province recently also proposed adding an intersection on Ring Road 4 with Provincial Road 769E for the most convenient connection to Long Thanh airport.
According to Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, when Long Thanh airport comes into operation, traffic pressure will be very high. Therefore, adding Road 769E and the intersection between this road and Ring Road 4 will reduce pressure on existing traffic routes.
Meanwhile, Beltway 4 through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has its starting point at the Toc Tien - Chau Pha intersection (Phu My town), the intersection with Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway and Hoi Bai - Phuoc Tan road (DT992).
The end point is in Chau Duc district, bordering Dong Nai. The section through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is 18.23km long, with a total investment of nearly VND8,000 billion in phase 1. According to the plan, the road has 8 lanes, with a cross-section width of 74.5m.
On the route, there are three interconnecting intersections including Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway, DT992, DT991 (My Xuan - Ngai Giao - Hoa Binh road) and planned national highway 51C.
According to Mr. Nguyen Cong Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the project is expected to be invested in the locality in the form of the state supporting all compensation and site clearance costs and part of the construction costs.
Regarding the general progress of the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project, the Government has assigned the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to be the competent authority to organize the completion of the overall project's pre-feasibility study report based on the synthesis of the pre-feasibility study reports of the component projects that have been prepared by the localities.
Next, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee reports and submits to the Government for the Government to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision.
Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 has a total length of more than 200km. Of which, the section through Ho Chi Minh City is 16.70km long, Ba Ria - Vung Tau is 18.23km long, Dong Nai: 45.54km, Binh Duong: 47.95km, Long An: 78.3km.
In phase 1, the entire project will be cleared at once according to the approved plan. Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 is expected to have a scale of 4 expressway lanes, continuous emergency lanes, 23 intersections and parallel roads, residential roads on both sides according to the traffic needs of each locality.
Estimated total investment is about 136,948 billion VND (expected central budget capital is about 49,902 billion VND, local budget capital is about 37,028 billion VND).
