On June 4, Van Toan continued to start for Seoul E-Land in the match against Busan I Park in round 15 of K-League 2.
Despite being taken off the field right after the first half and Seoul E-Land losing 1-2, Van Toan still reached a historic milestone after this match. He surpassed Cong Phuong and Xuan Truong, becoming the Vietnamese player with the most minutes played in Korea.
According to statistics, Van Toan has played 430 minutes after 11 matches for Seoul E-Land, including 9 matches in K-League 2.
Previously, Cong Phuong played 410 minutes for Incheon United in the K-League 1 season 2019. Xuan Truong played for two Korean teams, Gangwon FC (2016) and Incheon (2017), but only played 7 times with a total of 403 minutes.
Van Toan's statistics will not stop at the above number because he is being trusted by coach Park Choong-kyun at Seoul E-Land Club.
The striker from Hai Duong has yet to score but has left a positive impression with his aggressiveness, often dropping deep to support the defense. He has now had an assist in the Korean National Cup.
This week, Van Toan will return home to join the Vietnamese national team according to the FIFA Days schedule. Coach Troussier's team will have two friendly matches with Hong Kong (China) and Syria on June 15 and June 20 respectively.
Midfielder Quang Hai and striker Cong Phuong will also join the national team on this occasion.
