TPO - The project to expand 2.5km of Luong Dinh Cua Street in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City started in 2015 but has yet to be completed.

The project to upgrade Luong Dinh Cua Street (in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) is the main axis connecting to the An Phu intersection project, nearly 2.5 km long, started in 2015 with a total investment of more than 800 billion VND, expected to be completed after 2 years. However, after 9 years, this project has not been completed yet.

According to Tien Phong, many sections of Luong Dinh Cua Street are still fenced off for construction.

The expanded road is only 2.5km long but has about 10 bunkers creating bottlenecks.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board - investor), the reason for the project's delay is due to problems in site clearance.

The section from An Phu intersection to Nguyen Hoang street is currently facing about 22,000 square meters of overlapping land with the An Phu Urban Development Project invested by Thu Thiem Real Estate Joint Stock Company.

Many places are narrowed, some places are fenced off for construction, such as the section from the intersection of Luong Dinh Cua and An Tu Cong Chua streets to the Luong Dinh Cua - Tran Nao roundabout.

The median strip on the road is rusted and degraded.

The road is still littered with construction materials, becoming dangerous "traps" for people.

The representative of the Traffic Department added that relevant units are studying to separate a part of the Luong Dinh Cua road upgrade project into the An Phu intersection project to ensure consistency and complete the parts that already have the land.

According to the Traffic Department, the project is currently dealing with weak ground and relocating utilities.

The Traffic Department committed that if the site handover is on schedule, the Luong Dinh Cua Street upgrade project will strive to complete the section from the intersection of Nguyen Hoang Street to the Luong Dinh Cua - Tran Nao roundabout this year and complete the entire project by 2025.

There were only a few workers and some machinery at the construction site.

Many construction sites are overgrown with grass.

The 600m section from Nguyen Hoang Street to Mai Chi Tho Street is also very narrow, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, the 22,000m2 area also overlaps with the An Phu intersection construction project - a key project of the city being implemented to reduce traffic congestion in the eastern area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City.
