In literature and art, “Truth” is the real thing, the core element of true art. The stories, characters, events or thoughts in the works all carry within them the desire to tell the truth about people, about life, about society. Through that, literature urges readers to live honestly, live with ideals and face themselves.
“Goodness” is morality, compassion, and tolerance between people. Literary, artistic, and musical works always sow in people’s hearts the seeds of love, responsibility, living for the community, respecting the right and fighting for justice.
“Beauty” is beauty, beauty in visual arts, beauty in language and beauty in thoughts, actions, and soul. A gentle poem, a profound painting, or a gentle melody… can awaken emotions, help people to be moved by the good, the right, the beautiful and to live more kindly and humanely.
In the flow of Vietnamese art, many works and characters have become vivid symbols of these values. Typically, the image of the fairy, the princess, the main character in fairy tales often represents kindness, virtue, love for people, always standing on the side of the weak, thereby not only conveying moral values but also spreading humane actions, living "Good".
The literary works of writer Nam Cao are a living symbol of “Truth” and “Beauty” in tragedy. Standing out through the character of Chi Pheo, the writer not only exposes the naked truth about the semi-colonial, semi-feudal society that drives people to the end of the road, but also touches people’s hearts with the desire to live a decent life, to be an honest person - a seemingly small thing but extremely great for a rejected person.
Vinh Phuc land - a sacred land, where many talented artists have gathered and are lighting up the values of truth - goodness - beauty through each work.
The late poet Hoang Ta, member of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, with his pure soul, humor and gentleness, brought children clear and profound verses.
For writer Nguyen Nhuan Hong Phuong, one of the typical prose writers of the provincial Literature and Arts Association, literature is not only a passion but also a mission to inspire a beautiful and decent life. Growing up from hardship, he brings real life experiences into his writings in a sincere and profound way. From his first novel "Dong echo nguoc chieu" which also marked the transformation of Vinh Phuc prose after the re-establishment of the province to his works such as "Van luong", "Pha van"... he always encourages compassion, sharing and the desire for a beautiful life. Writer Nguyen Nhuan Hong Phuong's works are contemplations on life, narratives imbued with the spirit of humanity, helping readers realize the beauty and value of life.
Along with literature, Vinh Phuc fine arts also left a strong mark. The family of painter Nguyen Anh Thap is a typical example. With 5 members who are members of the provincial Literature and Arts Association, including 3 members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, his family is the cradle of many generations of art.
With nearly 50 years of experience in painting, the talent of painter Nguyen Anh Thap has been highly appreciated by experts and loved by readers with works of various genres such as oil painting, lacquer painting, wood carving, silk... His works truly reflect life, honor the workers, praise the Party, Uncle Ho, the homeland and national traditions. Propaganda paintings such as "Not a kilo of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing", "Uncle Ho lives forever in our cause"... have high artistic value, recreating history and the spirit of the times.
Painter Nguyen Anh Thap has had many works displayed in major exhibitions and published in prestigious magazines; in particular, many works have won high prizes in many regional and national painting competitions. He also participated in drawing 3 projection films to serve propaganda on the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws, including the film "Mrs. Lap of Tam Phuc commune is good at making fertilizer" which won the second national prize in 1971...
With his tireless efforts and creativity for art, painter Nguyen Anh Thap has won many noble awards such as the 3rd class Anti-American Resistance Medal, Medal for the cause of Vietnamese literature and art, Commemorative Medal for the cause of Vietnamese fine arts and many Certificates of Merit from various levels and sectors.
Sharing about his artistic path, painter Nguyen Anh Thap said: “A painter wants to know his heart so he picks up a brush and paints… I always follow the principle of “true people, true things”, which means painting the most genuine things, real people, real events. Each of my works reflects a part of life. This is also the way I express my love for the country and its people. Coming to art is not only a passion but also a way for me to live happily, healthily, beautifully and usefully for the community”.
Literature and art are the bridge between people and noble spiritual values, nurturing spiritual life and inspiring people to live beautifully. With their sincerity, responsibility and loving souls, Vinh Phuc artists are contributing to enriching the treasure trove of Vietnamese art with works imbued with truth - goodness - beauty, helping readers understand truth, morality and beauty, thereby guiding and encouraging them to live a kind, meaningful and humane life.
