As previously reported, the shortage of schools in Hoang Liet ward (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi ), considered the most densely populated ward in the capital with approximately 80,000 residents and 92 high-rise buildings, means that the issue of school shortages is always a pressing concern.

However, a paradox is occurring here: with an overwhelming number of students, there is a shortage of schools, while numerous school plots remain abandoned and fenced off for years. Furthermore, many school plots have been illegally converted into mini-football fields and archery ranges, generating revenue and causing public outrage.

Specifically, on a plot of land next to the Phap Van - Tu Hiep dormitory area, which Red Maple Company acquired from HUD Corporation, with an area of approximately 13,000m2, a mini football field and archery range unexpectedly "sprung up". Not far from there, next to Tran Thu Do Park, on Tran Thu Do Street, thousands of square meters have been transformed into a series of artificial football fields.

School land has been illegally converted into mini football fields.

Regarding this information, on October 19th, in an interview with Nguoi Dua Tin (The Informer), the leader of the People's Committee of Hoang Liet ward (Hoang Mai district) stated that they had become aware of the information through media reports and had taken measures to address it.

"The ward has decided to temporarily suspend operations here, and the archery range inside the plot of land has been dismantled," said the leader of Hoang Liet Ward People's Committee.

According to observations by Nguoi Dua Tin on the afternoon of October 19th, the makeshift football field that "sprung up" on a 13,000m2 plot of land transferred to La Phong Do Company from HUD Corporation has been dismantled. However, the football fields there are still operating normally. The football fields on the land next to Tran Thu Do Park are also operating as usual.

The four football fields on the approximately 13,000 square meter plot of land are still in normal operation.

According to our investigation, the rental price for a 7-a-side pitch between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM and 8:30 PM is 1 million VND, while the price between 8:30 PM and 10:00 AM is 600,000 VND. Therefore, it is estimated that renting out 4 pitches brings in over 10 million VND per day, not including other services and expenses such as selling or renting uniforms, balls, and selling drinks.
