In recent days, there has been prolonged heavy rain in the Cua Dat lake basin. The lake water level at 8:00 a.m. on September 22 was at +108.48m, and the flow to Cua Dat lake was over 1,150 m3 /s.

Flood control operation of Cua Dat reservoir

Cua Dat reservoir spillway is preparing to operate to regulate floods.

To ensure the safety of the project and the downstream area of ​​the project, the Investment and Construction Management Board of Irrigation 3 (Board 3) announces the expected time and operation of water discharge to regulate the flood of Cua Dat reservoir. Starting from 3:00 p.m. on September 22, 2024 until the completion of the reservoir operation process. Of which, discharge through Cua Dat hydropower plant is 150m 3 /s; discharge through Doc Cay hydropower plant is 21m 3 /s; discharge through spillway is 200m 3 /s, the total amount of water discharged to the downstream is 371m 3 /s.

Depending on the development of the flood situation, Board 3 will adjust the discharge flow to regulate and maintain the lake water level not exceeding the elevation of +110m.

To ensure absolute safety for works, lives and property of the state and people in the downstream area of ​​Cua Dat Lake. Committee 3 informs the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention of Thanh Hoa province, the People's Committees of downstream districts, and relevant units.
