Van Don: Ready for summer tourist season

To promptly meet the needs of tourists, during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, especially the 2025 summer tourism , restaurants, hotels, and transportation service businesses in Van Don district have repaired and renovated infrastructure and facilities, re-operated service teams, ensuring the satisfaction of incoming and outgoing guests.

Currently, in Van Don, there are over 200 tourist accommodation establishments with nearly 3,000 rooms and about 100 restaurants and eateries. To ensure service quality and meet the needs of tourists, all establishments have been invested in repairing, upgrading, improving rooms, and improving service quality. Along with that, the units are inspected, installed additional fire and explosion safety conditions, signed contracts with competent authorities to ensure food hygiene and safety, and publicly listed service prices, meals, and seafood types according to regulations. Up to now, most of these establishments have been granted certificates of fire safety facilities.

Mr. Dao Van Vu, Vice Chairman of Van Don District People's Committee, said: The district has developed a plan to develop tourism in Van Don district in 2025; coordinated with Viet Thuan Transport Company Limited to survey a number of tourist spots on Ngoc Vung island, serving the preparation for welcoming tourists to visit and experience in 2025. Organized an online conference to discuss solutions to attract tourists to Van Don in 2025. From the beginning of the year until now, the number of visitors to Van Don is estimated at 473,500, an increase of 33% over the same period in 2024 (CK), tourism revenue is estimated at 463 billion VND, an increase of 17.4% CK.

At the end of March 2025, at Ao Tien Passenger Port, Quang Ninh province held a ceremony to announce and launch tourist itineraries from Ao Tien International Port to tourist destinations in Bai Tu Long Bay. Unlike the bustling Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay has a wild, peaceful beauty, very suitable for developing eco-tourism, resorts and experiences. Putting into operation new tourist itineraries will not only help tourists have more options when coming to Quang Ninh but also contribute to increasing the economic and tourism value of Van Don district.

As part of the tourism product chain of Van Don district, San Diu ethnic cultural and tourism village - a cultural and landscape highlight of Binh Dan commune will certainly be an attractive destination for tourists. Because this is not only a place for conservation, but also a space for experiencing ethnic culture, a center for introducing unique cultural identities to a large number of tourists, contributing to creating a unique value chain of experiential tourism, cultural tourism and community tourism.

To create more space for experience, Binh Dan also encourages the development of traditional occupations, handicraft products, OCOP products, associated with the task of building a new model rural area and developing community tourism. The main occupation of the San Diu people in the commune is agriculture , rice cultivation, vegetable growing, and animal husbandry. Some households weave traditional items. These are also the products displayed in traditional markets organized by the commune. Binh Dan has also stepped up the review, completion of documents, and proposed recognition of folk artisans. To date, the commune has 3 folk artisans: Truong Thi Choong, Truong Thi Chuc, and To Thi Ta.

The summer tourist season of 2025 has arrived, Van Don will certainly become an attractive destination for tourists in the 2025 travel itinerary.
