Van Canh needs to focus on supporting investment in developing Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park

(BD) - On the afternoon of April 22, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan had a working session with Van Canh district on the socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2025, the work of eliminating temporary houses and the implementation of the arrangement of administrative units in the locality.

The report of Van Canh District People's Committee shows that in the first quarter of 2025, the total value of local products reached 655.44 billion VND, an increase of 11.79% over the same period, reaching 16.97% of the 2025 plan. The fields of culture, health, and education have positive changes, national defense and security are ensured. Currently, the district continues to implement 8 groups of tasks and solutions to promote socio-economic development, striving for GRDP growth in 2025 to reach 11.5 - 12.4% or more.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has achieved positive results with 419/419 households receiving State support starting construction, including 298 households building new houses and 121 households repairing their houses. Currently, 230 households have completed and put the works into use. With the current progress, by April 30, Van Canh will complete the above program.

Van Canh district has also rearranged administrative units from 7 communes and towns to 3 commune-level units, including: Van Canh 1, Van Canh 2 and Canh Lien commune; the percentage of voters agreeing with the above arrangement plan accounts for 96.39% of the total number of voters participating in the comments.

On this occasion, Van Canh district Propose that the province support calling for attracting local investors and support trade promotion, connecting and developing product consumption markets. Propose that the Provincial People's Committee direct the Department of Agriculture and Environment to expand the clean water supply network to provide domestic water for people in some areas of Van Canh town and Canh Hiep and Canh Thuan communes. Propose that the province continue to implement the Suoi Chiep dam project in Canh Hoa commune; speed up the implementation of the road project in the west of the district, from Canh Hien commune to Canh Vinh commune...

At the meeting, the relevant departments analyzed and responded to local recommendations and proposals.

Speaking at the direction, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan acknowledged and commended Van Canh district for its good implementation of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Regarding the investment in socio-economic development in the locality in the coming time, comrade Pham Anh Tuan requested to focus on supporting investment in developing Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park (IP), because this is the driving force for Van Canh and the whole province to develop. The locality must coordinate with the provincial departments and branches to review the number of workers in the area, the labor recruitment needs of enterprises, and from there place training orders to provide labor for enterprises. In addition, focus on investing in completing infrastructure, developing urban land and ensuring security and order. The locality must coordinate with Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company to implement this for mutual development.

The head of the provincial government also requested Van Canh district to focus on resolving the remaining and unfinished tasks of the district, including projects invested by the district before implementing the 2-level local government; at the same time, support project owners who have been granted investment certificates by the province in Van Canh, creating space and motivation for development. In addition, more attention should be paid to social security, sustainable poverty reduction, environmental protection and promoting digital transformation.

Regarding the work of arranging administrative units, the district needs to review personnel, propose and arrange personnel to ensure work efficiency, enthusiasm and good ethics. At the same time, review public service units, management boards, and public assets in the district to handle or propose handling plans, ensuring rationality, efficiency, and avoiding waste.

Previously, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and encouraged Ms. Dinh Thi Kich (war invalid) and the families of Tran Huu Mao (relative of a martyr), Nguyen Van Huu (poor household) both in Van Canh town, who received state support to build new houses.
