On the evening of June 17, news from the Kien Giang Provincial Border Guard said that the units under the unit coordinated with the authorities to hand over the body of fisherman Du Van Nai (56 years old, residing in Nam Yen commune, An Bien district, Kien Giang) to his family for burial after a waterway traffic accident at the estuary of Tay Yen commune, An Bien district.

Previously, at around 10:00 a.m. on June 16, Tay Yen Border Post, under Kien Giang Border Guard (located in Tay Yen Commune, An Bien District) received a report from Mr. Tran Hieu Duc (44 years old, residing in Duong To Commune, Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang) about an accident that killed a fisherman.
Mr. Duc said he was the captain of barge number KG-57667. At around 9:30 a.m. on June 16, his barge was moving along the Cai Lon River to the sea. When it reached the section in Tay Yen commune, the barge suddenly collided with a clam rake, with two fishermen on board, Mr. Du Van Nai and Mr. Du Vi Khanh (26 years old). The collision caused the boat to sink, and Mr. Nai fell into the sea and went missing.
Immediately after receiving the news, Tay Yen Border Guard Station reported to the Kien Giang Provincial Border Guard Command, and coordinated with An Bien District Police and the Waterway Traffic Police Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police to urgently search for the victim.
After many hours of continuous searching, at 2:30 p.m. on June 17, Mr. Nai's body was discovered at the seaport near bridge number 2, in Rach Gia city, Kien Giang.
