The National Assembly Standing Committee approved comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province.

On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed a Resolution approving the election results of the Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term.

The National Assembly Standing Committee approved comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu to hold the position of Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Council.

In Resolution No. 1302/NQ-UBTVQH15, dated November 26, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly resolved to approve the election results of the Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province, term 2021 - 2026 for comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee from November 18, 2024.

The National Assembly Standing Committee assigned the Head of the Delegation Work Committee, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council and comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu to be responsible for implementing this resolution.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 18, at the 24th Session, 100% of the delegates of the 18th Provincial People's Council attending the meeting elected comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the 18th Nghe An Provincial People's Council, term 2021 - 2026 by secret ballot.

Nghe An Provincial People's Council voted to pass the Resolution confirming the election results with 100% of delegates attending the meeting in agreement.

According to the Law on Organization of Local Government, the election results of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the People's Council at the provincial level must be approved by the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Standing Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu was elected to hold the position of Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Council to replace his predecessor, comrade Thai Thanh Quy, who was transferred and assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission in Decision No. 1620-QDNS/TW dated October 25, 2024.

The Chairman of the People's Council is responsible for leading the activities of the Standing Committee of the People's Council at the same level, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the People's Council, maintaining contact with the People's Committee, State agencies, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, member organizations of the Front at the same level, other social organizations and citizens.

The Standing Committee of the People's Council is the permanent body of the People's Council, performing tasks and powers according to the provisions of the Law on Organization of Local Authorities and other relevant provisions of law; being responsible and reporting on work to the People's Council.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council includes the Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairman of the People's Council, and members who are Heads of the Provincial People's Council. With this event, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council currently includes comrades: Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and 4 Standing Members including comrades: Cao Tien Trung - Head of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Pham Thanh Chung - Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council; Chu Duc Thai - Head of the Cultural - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council and Lo Thi Kim Ngan - Head of the Ethnic Committee of the Provincial People's Council.
