The National Assembly Standing Committee met to discuss many important issues during the 5th Session.

The National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on a number of major issues explaining, accepting, adjusting and completing the projects: Law on Bidding (amended); Law on Prices (amended); Law on Cooperatives (amended); Law on Consumer Protection (amended); Law on Civil Defense; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Exit and Entry of Vietnamese Citizens and Law on Entry, Transit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam; Law on Electronic Transactions (amended).

These 8 draft laws have just been discussed by the 15th National Assembly in Phase 1 and are expected to be approved in Phase 2 of the 5th Session.

23rd Session of the National Assembly Standing Committee

Some major issues of explanation, acceptance, revision and completion of draft resolutions expected to be approved by the National Assembly at the 5th Session will also be reported to the National Assembly Standing Committee.

Specifically: Resolution on taking a vote of confidence, voting for confidence in people holding positions elected or approved by the National Assembly and People's Councils (amended); Resolution on deciding on investment policy for the traffic project from National Highway 27C to Provincial Road DT.656 in Khanh Hoa province - connecting with Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan; Resolution of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific policies and mechanisms for the development of Ho Chi Minh City; Resolution on approving the 2021 state budget settlement.

The Secretary General of the National Assembly also reported to the National Assembly Standing Committee on a number of major issues to explain, absorb, revise and complete the drafts: General Resolution of the Session (including the content on reducing value added tax; adjusting the investment policy of the Ka Pet Reservoir Project; investment policy to supplement charter capital for the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam); Resolution on questions and answers; Resolution on the establishment of the National Assembly's Thematic Supervision Delegation in 2024.

The draft Resolution on assigning the list and capital level for tasks and projects under the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program; assigning, adjusting and supplementing the medium-term public investment plan of central budget capital for the period 2021-2025 and allocating the central budget capital investment plan in 2023 of the national target program was also discussed at this meeting.

In addition, the National Assembly's Supervisory Delegation reported to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly for comments on the draft Resolution on the results of the thematic supervision of "Mobilization, management and use of resources for COVID-19 prevention and control; implementation of policies and laws on grassroots health care and preventive medicine"./.
