The sixth session opened on October 23.

In a summary report summarizing the fifth session, preparing for the sixth session of the National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that after 23 working days, the fifth session was a great success, completing a large amount of work as planned, continuing to innovate and improve, increasingly meeting practical requirements.

The National Assembly passed 8 Laws and 17 Resolutions; gave opinions on 9 other draft laws and reviewed many important reports. The contents of the session covered many fields with many important issues, of long-term strategic nature, fundamentally resolving the shortcomings of mechanisms and policies, contributing to the building of a complete and comprehensive legal system, meeting the requirements of social management, and receiving the attention and support of voters and people.

During the one-week period between the two sessions, the agencies of the National Assembly, the Government, and relevant agencies worked urgently and continuously. The National Assembly Standing Committee held a four-day meeting to direct the reception and thorough explanation of the opinions of National Assembly deputies to ensure the highest quality of the contents before submitting them to the National Assembly for approval.

Regarding the preparation for the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that the National Assembly is expected to consider and pass 9 draft laws and give opinions on 8 other draft laws.

The National Assembly also considered and decided on socio-economic issues and the State budget for 2023 and 2024; reviewed mid-term assessment reports on the implementation of the 5-year plans for the 2021-2025 period on socio-economic development, economic restructuring, medium-term public investment, national finance and borrowing and public debt repayment; reviewed reports on the implementation of a number of Resolutions on thematic supervision and questioning of the 14th National Assembly and from the beginning of the 15th term to the end of the 4th Session; supreme thematic supervision and other important issues; in which, the National Marine Spatial Planning is a content that needs to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision to meet the requirements in the Resolution on the Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2022...

Regarding time, it is expected that the National Assembly will arrange more than 11   days for legislative work; 11 days for important issues; 1.5 days for opening, closing, passing laws, resolutions and reserves. The opening session of the 6th Session is scheduled to be held on Monday, October 23. The session will also be held in 2 sessions.

Register content to be submitted to the National Assembly in July

After listening to the opinions and concluding this content, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that at the Fifth Session, the National Assembly had completed a very large amount of work. The contents of the session were prepared very carefully, thoroughly, and responsibly by the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly agencies, the Government, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuracy, and relevant agencies and organizations; coordinated very well and smoothly; were conducted carefully and closely; promoted democracy, ensured publicity and transparency, and thus achieved a very high consensus among National Assembly deputies.

Regarding preparations for the 6th Session of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested relevant agencies and organizations to register the contents to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision by July at the latest. Especially the mandatory contents such as global minimum tax, legal review assessment report, national marine spatial planning, etc.

In his closing speech at the 24th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that after 2.5 working days, the National Assembly Standing Committee had completed all 7 contents according to the program. The National Assembly Chairman requested the National Assembly Secretary General to promptly issue notices and conclusions for relevant organizations and agencies to promptly organize implementation.
