On July 10, according to information from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of this province has just given strong instructions regarding the implementation of important tasks in the socio -economic development of the province.
According to the plan, by 2030, Ca Mau Airport will have a 4C airport level, with a capacity of about one million passengers and 1,000 tons of cargo/year.
In particular, the focus is on promoting the disbursement of public investment capital, associated with promoting the progress of important projects and works and resolving a number of outstanding issues and obstacles in land acquisition and site clearance for key projects and works of the province.
Specifically, including: Hau Giang - Ca Mau section component project of the North - South Eastern Expressway Construction Project phase 2021 - 2025; Investment project to upgrade and expand U Minh - Khanh Hoi route, Ca Mau Airport expansion and upgrade project, Hon Khoai seaport construction project, etc.
According to information from the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ca Mau province, this unit was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to measure and count the entire status of houses, trees, and land in the Ca Mau airport expansion project, and is implementing the next steps according to plan. According to initial calculations, about 1,000 households are affected by this project.
The province has a plan to investigate, survey, measure, count and issue a notice of land recovery. At the same time, conduct measurement and counting; establish, approve and implement compensation, support and resettlement plans; hand over the site; handle requests, complaints, arising backlogs and results of compensation, support and resettlement work.
Ca Mau province is determined to hand over 100% of the site to the investor to implement the Ca Mau airport expansion project by December 31, 2024.
According to the land use planning for the 2021-2030 period, recently approved by the Prime Minister, the total land use demand for the expansion of Ca Mau airport is about 184.22 hectares. With a vision to 2050, the total land use demand is about 244.43 hectares.
Regarding the Hon Khoai seaport construction project, currently, the functional sector of Ca Mau province is urgently preparing documents and procedures to invite investors to survey, and there are currently investors interested in learning about this project. At the same time, working with the consulting unit to soon complete the planning of Hon Khoai seaport.
According to the general plan, Hon Khoai port (located in Ngoc Hien district) has a breakwater, including: A yard area to build for ships with a capacity of up to 250,000 tons to dock; a transit wharf that can accommodate ships from 5,000 to 100,000 tons.
Along with that is the construction of a wharf area for tugboats, patrol boats and services along with a bridge system connecting Hon Khoai Island to the mainland about 17km, Nam Can economic zone 42km. The total investment of the project is expected to be about 2.5 billion USD.
The Hon Khoai seaport construction project is one of three solid pillars for the economic development momentum of the Mekong Delta region, including: Kien Giang - Phu Quoc, Tra Vinh - Dinh An and Nam Can - Hon Khoai Economic Zone.
