In 2021, when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, instead of going to the office, I worked from home. That time was difficult but extremely valuable because I became friends with myself. And tea, especially Tan Cuong tea (Thai Nguyen) also known as man tea, has accompanied me throughout my journey of understanding myself.
Looking back, I came to tea as a matter of fate. Fate is that I have known how to drink tea since I was young but drank it with the mindset of an outsider. Because my parents loved tea, every time I made it, I would try it. It was not until later, when I drank tea for my health and wanted to learn more about the art of Vietnamese tea, that I officially entered that world. And I myself do not know when I fell in love with tea.
I like drinking tea because there are so many things that make people admire tea. When tea can appear in ordinary places or be seen in luxurious places. Not only that, tea can be drunk alone, with two people or in crowded spaces. And then going through each region, tea will have its own distinct flavor thanks to the unique way of brewing.
The author makes tea for you
I realized that no matter where or how you enjoy tea, tea is still tea, just as it is. For me, the most complete way to enjoy tea is when the person making it is calm and the person receiving it is happy.
The tea will change from a slightly bitter taste on the tip of the tongue, then gradually sweeten in the throat and seep into the heart. Therefore, drinking tea cannot be rushed, if you rush, your mind will not be calm, and you will not be able to fully appreciate the delicious taste of the tea.
Thinking back, life is all about fate, some people come, some go, and some stay. Like tea, we can never find a second cup that tastes exactly like the one we once enjoyed.
