According to the list announced by the State Council of Professors, the Council of Professors proposed to consider and recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024, which is 673 candidates (62 professor candidates, 611 associate professor candidates in various fields/interdisciplinary fields).
Among them, Tran Ngoc Mai, born on August 3, 1991 (33 years old) is the youngest female candidate for associate professor this year. She is currently working at the Faculty of International Business, Banking Academy, candidate for associate professor of Economics.
Tran Ngoc Mai graduated with a degree in Business Administration, majoring in International Business, Banking and Financial Markets from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, USA, in 2012. In 2015, she graduated with a master's degree in Economics and Finance; majoring in Banking and Finance from the University of London, Queen Mary, UK. Ngoc Mai received her PhD in 2021 from the Foreign Trade University, Hanoi.
After graduating from university in the US, she returned to Vietnam to work at the Banking Academy and held various positions such as lecturer of the International Payments Department, Banking Faculty; lecturer of the International Investment Department, International Business Faculty. Currently, the female lecturer is the deputy head of the International Investment Department, International Business Faculty, Banking Academy.
During her research, Tran Ngoc Mai published 31 scientific articles, including 6 in prestigious international journals after being recognized as a doctor (6 articles as the main author). The youngest female associate professor candidate in 2024 has presided over 2 basic research topics that were accepted with good and excellent results, and participated in writing 2 specialized reference books. In addition, she also actively supports and guides young lecturers and students in scientific research activities at the Banking Academy.
In scientific research, Tran Ngoc Mai focuses on two directions. The first direction is macro on international investment, international trade and sustainable economic development. In this direction, the candidate published 14 scientific articles, including 3 prestigious international articles as the main author after being recognized as a doctor. The second research direction is micro on behavioral management and sustainable business practices. In this research direction, the candidate published 17 scientific articles, including 3 prestigious international articles as the main author after being recognized as a doctor.
The youngest female associate professor candidate in Vietnam in 2024 said that she has continuously improved her knowledge by participating in and self-studying many training programs, updating new trends and practical skills in the field of international business and sustainable development. She also actively participates in exchange and debate activities with experts, thereby contributing to improving the quality of her teaching and scientific research.
Ngoc Mai has been teaching undergraduate, master, standard, high quality and international joint programs. She always updates new knowledge and innovates teaching methods. Her annual teaching results are always highly appreciated for their efficiency and quality, receiving many positive feedbacks from students.
