Previously, in response to the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people, as of March 26, all 20 communes and towns of the district had completed the launching plan, ensuring to meet and exceed the city's targets in terms of both the number of participants and the length of the running route. At the base round of the race, 100% of athletes from the target groups completed the general running test, many students, union members, and young people achieved good results exceeding the distance standards set by the Organizing Committee.
Through the grassroots running rounds, many outstanding athletes with outstanding achievements were selected to compete in the district finals, contributing to strengthening the movement of "physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho", building a healthy lifestyle in the community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ung Hoa District People's Committee Ngo Tien Hoang emphasized that in recent years, the mass physical education and sports movement in the district has been increasingly widespread, the number of people participating in regular training, especially endurance running and walking, has been constantly increasing. The Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run is a meaningful sports activity, contributing to promoting the spirit of health training, creating a healthy playground and connecting the community; at the same time praising and rewarding outstanding collectives and individuals in the movement.
The final round of this year's race recorded high professional quality, many athletes made spectacular breakthroughs on the race track. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the following athletes: Commune and town block: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diem (Phuong Tu commune), Do Tien Dung (Truong Thinh commune); Secondary school block: Nguyen Thu Huong (Kim Duong Secondary School), Nguyen Thanh Long (Doi Binh Secondary School); High school block: Nguyen Thi Dieu (Tran Dang Ninh High School), Ta Gia Bao (Ung Hoa A High School).
Regarding the overall group award, Tao Van Duong Secondary School excellently won first prize in the secondary school category; Tran Dang Ninh High School won first prize in the high school category; Hoa Vien commune led the commune and town category.
The race is not only a traditional sport activity associated with generations of people in the capital, but also an opportunity to encourage and strongly spread the spirit of loving sports, loving peace, and building a healthy and dynamic living environment in Ung Hoa district.
