On the evening of October 30th, speaking with a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Sau, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ha District ( Ha Tinh province ), said that functional forces had just promptly rescued 9 workers constructing the North-South expressway section through Ha Tinh province who were trapped in a makeshift camp in the middle of a field when floodwaters rose.
Authorities in Ha Tinh province deployed boats to rescue nine workers trapped by floods.
According to Mr. Sau, at approximately 4:30 PM on the same day (October 30th), the People's Committee of Thach Ha District received a report that nine workers from Dinh An Group Joint Stock Company (the unit constructing Son Loc Bridge, part of the North-South Expressway project, the section bordering Viet Tien commune, Thach Ha District and Son Loc commune, Can Loc District) were isolated in their camp due to rising floodwaters.
Upon receiving the report, the authorities of Thach Ha and Can Loc districts, in coordination with the Military Command of Ha Tinh province, dispatched four boats to the scene to rescue the trapped workers.
The workers have been taken to a safe shelter.
However, due to the strong currents, the area where the nine workers were trapped was located between the Gia River and the Vach Nam River, making rescue efforts extremely difficult. After many hours of effort, the authorities finally reached the camp to bring the workers ashore.
By over 7 PM on the same day, the rescue operation for the 9 workers isolated by floodwaters was completed, ensuring the safety of personnel and rescue equipment.
