The meeting focused on evaluating, discussing and contributing opinions on the results of the city's socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2025 and the direction and tasks for the coming time. In the first 3 months of 2025, the city's socio-economic situation has had many positive changes. The trade and service sector has developed quite well, with total retail sales reaching 6,370 billion VND, reaching 19.44% of the plan and increasing by 13.35% over the same period last year; industrial production has increased quite steadily; sightseeing, entertainment and recreation spots in the city served 29,993 visitors.

The city focused on accelerating the progress of construction projects; agricultural production developed steadily in favorable weather conditions. Diseases in livestock and poultry continued to be well controlled. The administrative apparatus was organized and consolidated; military and defense work was ensured, military assignment was safe, and targets were met. Cultural and social fields continued to receive attention, direction, and good implementation; people's lives were stable.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of Long Xuyen City People's Committee Tran Minh Duc emphasized that in order to successfully carry out the political tasks of 2025, localities and units must continue to thoroughly grasp, synchronously, substantially and effectively implement the tasks and solutions of the 2025 plan according to the Resolution of the City Party Committee and the City People's Council on the socio-economic development plan for 2025. Accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital; accelerate the implementation of key investment projects of economic sectors.
