Chau Doc City People's Committee evaluates the results of implementing tasks in the first quarter

On the afternoon of April 3, Chau Doc City People's Committee held an expanded meeting of the City People's Committee members to evaluate the results of the city's socio-economic development tasks in the first quarter, and directions and tasks for the second quarter of 2025. In the first 3 months of 2025, the locality achieved many positive results. Prices were stable, production - business activities, buying and selling were bustling and vibrant; security and order in the area were maintained; social security work, activities to celebrate the Party and celebrate Spring were organized effectively, joyfully and safely. Successfully coordinated the organization of the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the Via Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, opening the Via Ba festival in 2025. The number of visitors is estimated at 2.3 million, reaching 47% of the annual plan; the number of guests staying is estimated at 303,450 people. Total local budget revenue is 708 billion VND (reaching 111% of the provincial estimate; reaching 109.4% of the city's estimate; reaching 212% over the same period). Continue to improve quality, maintain 34 national standard schools, achieving 100% of the plan.

The conference focused on discussing, evaluating and analyzing the results of budget revenue and expenditure, tax collection in the first quarter, directions and tasks in the second quarter; results of investment and construction of key projects in the city; implementation of socio-economic development tasks according to the assigned functions of each unit... At the same time, many solutions were proposed to remove difficulties and coordinate the implementation of tasks in the coming time, related to the number of tourists; public investment disbursement; organization of the Ba Chua Xu Festival in Sam Mountain in 2025; progress of building the night-time economic development project; improving the quality of administrative reform index, online public services...

Concluding the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Chau Doc City People's Committee Vo Chi Trung praised the sense of responsibility of each member and unit, contributing to the socio-economic development results in the first quarter. In the next 3 months, in addition to implementing the policy of rearranging and streamlining the apparatus at all levels, it is necessary to focus on widespread propaganda among cadres, civil servants, and public employees, promoting the sense of responsibility when performing tasks, especially the leaders. In addition, improving the efficiency of management, using the State budget effectively and economically; reviewing and reporting on public assets and infrastructure managed by the State, as a basis for the process of rearranging and streamlining the apparatus.
