The current specific target of the marine aquaculture industry in Ninh Thuan province has been determined by the end of 2024 to digitize the specialized aquaculture water surface within an area of about 732 hectares (C1) and the wind power development area combined with high-tech marine aquaculture with an area of 1,295.63 hectares (C2) and by 2025-2030 to complete the legal basis for specialized marine aquaculture areas, licensed high-tech aquaculture areas and manage the number of cages and cage density at sea for organizations, individuals and enterprises that are raising aquatic animals not in the planning area into the specialized marine aquaculture planning area.
Comrade Trinh Minh Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.
Accordingly, the Project on management and development of the marine aquaculture planning area of Ninh Thuan province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, aims to apply modern technology, digitize water surfaces, and re-plan marine aquaculture areas. Thereby, it serves as a basis for establishing management records, restructuring aquaculture areas for coastal marine aquaculture communities, avoiding the number of cages/rafts exceeding the environmental capacity and moving towards leasing open sea water surface, through the allocation of water surface to high-tech marine aquaculture enterprises as a basis for the government to select enterprises with potential to invest in developing high-tech marine aquaculture, as a basis for tracing the origin of products, and increasing the value of aquaculture products.
Concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments, branches and units to review and supplement specific management contents to complete the project. It is necessary to unify the farming net systems and provide full basic information about the cages in the project. Clearly define each area for specialized farming, high-tech marine farming and specific types of aquatic products to ensure compliance with planning and protect the ecological environment.
