Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee reviews Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway route

On the morning of April 23, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong chaired a working conference with the Railway Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ) on reviewing the route route through Bac Ninh province under the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project.

Conference overview

According to the feasibility study report, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project has a total length of about 418.8km (main line 390.9km and 03 connecting branches 27.9km); passing through 9 provinces and cities: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong and Hai Phong; starting point at the rail connection point across the border between the new Lao Cai station and Ha Khau Bac station; ending point at Lach Huyen wharf area, Hai Phong city. The route has 18 stations (03 train stations; 15 mixed stations); 13 technical operation stations. Of which, the section passing through Bac Ninh province belongs to Tu Son city and Thuan Thanh town; there is Yen Thuong station in Yen Thuong commune (Gia Lam, Hanoi) and Chau Khe ward (Tu Son).

At the conference, delegates discussed and gave opinions on the proposed adjustment plan for the route in Tu Son area and the location of Yen Thuong station compared to the pre-feasibility study report.

Based on the opinions of the delegates, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong emphasized that Bac Ninh province is always ready to coordinate with ministries and branches to implement the project to ensure the common interests of the country. He requested relevant departments, branches and localities to continue studying the route plan, technical factors, and location of Yen Thuong station, ensuring feasibility and conformity with local planning. The Department of Construction is assigned as the focal agency to synthesize opinions and advise the Provincial People's Committee to send a specific document to the Ministry of Construction, the Railway Management Board and the consulting unit.
