The project aims to improve urban environmental infrastructure and minimize the impact of climate change in Khanh Hai town (Ninh Hai); Phuoc Dan town (Ninh Phuoc) and Tan Son town (Ninh Son) in the period of 2023-2028, funded by the Government of Finland through the Public Investment Credit Program. It is expected that the project will build about 110 km of new gravity sewers and 4.7 km of pressure pipelines; build 17 new drainage pumping stations and 3 centralized wastewater treatment plants with a total capacity of 12,000 m3. When completed, it will improve drainage conditions and environmental sanitation for about 83,500 people. The total investment of the project is nearly 1,300 billion VND, of which loans and non-refundable aid from the Public Investment Credit Program of the Government of Finland is over 734 billion VND, the rest is counterpart capital.
Comrade Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting and worked with representatives of Operon Group (Finland).
At the meeting, Mr. Phan Tan Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, appreciated the support and connection of the Operon Group to help the province complete the dossier to get the Finnish Government's approval to finance the project. He emphasized that this is a very important project to improve the urban environment for Ninh Thuan. Currently, Ninh Thuan is implementing the Sustainable Environment Project for Coastal Cities - Phan Rang-Thap Cham City Sub-project funded by the World Bank. Therefore, the province has experience in implementing project dossiers and units with sufficient capacity to implement the project. However, the province really needs the support of the Operon Group to introduce enterprises with sufficient capacity to consult on project establishment. At the same time, the Board of Capacity Building and Implementation of ODA Water Sector Projects is assigned to be the focal point to work with the Operon Group to prepare project dossiers.
