My Uyen is on the list of female artists who were awarded the title of People's Artist this time. In 2018, although she had enough medals to be considered for the title of People's Artist, My Uyen did not apply because she was shy. Partly, she also felt that she did not dare to accept this noble title.

During the last review, My Uyen did not intend to apply. Thanks to the encouragement from friends and relatives, she was able to boldly apply. This also helped her become a People's Artist at the age of 48.

My Uyen (full name Dang Thuy My Uyen) was born in 1975. Since childhood, My Uyen has been passionate about singing and dancing. It was her passion for art that led My Uyen to enter the theater school. She began her artistic career in 1994 and received her first role in the film The Land of Love. In 1996, she graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City College of Theater and Cinema.

After graduating, My Uyen was invited by People's Artist Hong Van to perform on the stage of artist Phuoc Sang. Her passion for art and talent helped My Uyen receive much sympathy from the audience.

Later, My Uyen moved to work at Stage 5B. Her first role on this stage was as a slave in the play The Fox and the Grapes.

After that, she also worked at Phu Nhuan Theater for a while but then she decided to stick with 5B Drama Theater. Thanks to that, My Uyen was appointed by the Board of Directors to the position of theater director.

As the manager of 5B Drama Stage and devoted to the performing arts for decades, My Uyen has never been negligent, always finding ways to help the stage overcome difficulties and move forward.

When the theater faced difficulties and had to close in 2015-2018 due to planning and in 2019-2021 due to the pandemic, artist My Uyen sold her car and house to reopen and keep the stage lit up until now.

Talking about this, My Uyen once frankly said: "To be honest, no one can force me to do anything. No one can take my money to invest in the theater, except for me."

In addition to the stage, My Uyen is also very successful in the fields of cinema and television. She made a special impression through the character Uyen in the film Living in Fear. This was also the first film role that My Uyen participated in, which made a good impression on Korean audiences at the Busan Film Festival in 2006. The recent films that she participated in such as Thang nam ruc ro, Ca mot doi an ron... also made many impressions.

My Uyen once revealed that there was a time when she was involved in up to 5 different film projects at the same time. She is proud that she can make a living from her profession and is often invited to act in all kinds of roles, both in film and television.

Entering her 50s, My Uyen still makes many people admire her for maintaining her youthful and beautiful appearance. The female artist shared that she practices yoga to maintain her slim figure.

Famous, beautiful and successful, artist My Uyen still chooses to live a single life. At the age of 48, she has not settled down like her contemporaries. However, she lives optimistically, loves life and always wants to contribute more to art.

In a TV show, My Uyen revealed that she used to be afraid of marriage because of family tradition. My Uyen said that from her mother to her aunts, they were all "forced into marriage" by their parents. Because she did not want a forced marriage life lacking freedom, the artist often avoided matchmaking and pairing. The female artist said that this made her form the habit of being independent and single.

The female artist once confided: "Everyone asks why I am still single, but I think I am not single because there are still many men who love and pursue me... When I am 70 years old, I can still be a bride. At that time, I will wear a sexy wedding dress, put a big flower on my head and drive a convertible."

Although she is not married and has no children, My Uyen always keeps in mind that she does not want to be a single mother. According to the female artist, if she has children, they must have a father. She wants to be with a responsible man who can help her raise her children.
