The South Korean U17 team played reasonably well in the early stages of the final against Japan. Despite Japan being considered the stronger team, South Korea showed confidence and determination, playing on equal footing with their opponents.
However, Ko Jong-huyn's red card in the 44th minute proved to be a turning point. The South Korean defender's illegal tackle outside the penalty area resulted in a second yellow card, which also allowed Japan U17 to score from a set piece.

Gaku Nawata capitalized on the aforementioned set-piece situation with a perfectly curved free kick, giving Japan U17 the lead. The early lead and the advantage of playing with an extra man allowed the young team from the Land of the Rising Sun to dominate the match. In the 66th minute, Gaku Nawata completed his brace, giving his team a significant advantage.
Another turning point in the match came at the end. In the 84th minute, the Japanese goalkeeper fouled a South Korean striker inside the penalty area, but the referee did not blow the whistle. Slow-motion replays from television later showed that goalkeeper Wataru Goto clearly fouled his opponent. However, the Thai referee did not award a penalty. In the stands, South Korean fans were furious, believing their team had been unfairly treated throughout the match.
Despite their remaining efforts, South Korea couldn't score a consolation goal. To make matters worse, Japan U17 sealed the 3-0 victory with a brilliant finish from Yutaka Michiwaki. With this easy win in the final, Japan U17 successfully defended their Asian Championship title.
This also marks the fourth time the Japanese U17 team has won the Asian Championship, following their victories in 1994, 2006, and 2018, a tournament record. The young "Samurai Blue" players displayed convincing form, crushing their opponents from the group stage to the knockout rounds. They scored 22 goals in 6 matches and conceded only 6. Meanwhile, the South Korean U17 team failed to win the championship for the third time, after their previous victories in 1986 and 2002.
