(Dan Tri) - The event of billionaire Bill Gates and legendary tennis player Roger Federer traveling to Da Nang has brought brand value, enhanced position, increased media effects, and spread the tourism image of the coastal city.

On December 27, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that in 2024, the city is expected to serve nearly 10.9 million tourists. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach more than 4.1 million, and domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 6.7 million.

Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and tourism in Da Nang is estimated at more than VND31,000 billion, up 22.1% over the same period last year and exceeding the plan by 10.8%.

According to Ms. An, Da Nang has exploited many attractive tourism products in the past year. Communication and destination promotion work has also seen many innovations and creativity.

In particular, tourism communication through celebrities, music stars, youtubers, bloggers, content creators, entertainers and entrepreneurs has attracted many large-scale music events.

In its plan to develop new breakthrough tourism products, Da Nang hopes to organize a tea tour on Ban Co Peak (Son Tra District), where billionaire Bill Gates visited in March.

Da Nang tourism leaders expect that in 2025, the city will serve more than 11.9 million visitors. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach 4.8 million and domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 7.1 million. Revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel in 2025 is expected to reach more than VND36,000 billion, an increase of more than 15% over the same period.
