Today, May 22, VinFuture Foundation announced that the VinFuture Global Science and Technology Prize 2023 has officially closed the nomination portal with 1,389 applications.
Compared to the number of nominations last year, the number of nominations this year increased by 43%. Notably, the proportion of nominating partners from Europe increased by 1.5 times compared to last year.

The 2023 nominations come from scientists and prestigious organizations from more than 90 countries and territories on 6 continents. The highest proportion of nominations for the VinFuture Prize Season 3 are scientists from the Americas with 30.3%; followed by Asia with 28.6%; Europe with 24.8% (this is a 1.5-fold increase compared to 2022). The rest come from Africa (9.5%) and Oceania (6.8%).
Nominating partners come from the world's leading universities and research institutes such as: Harvard University, Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, the University of California system, Johns Hopkins University (these universities and research institutes are all in the US); Max Planck Institute (Germany); Cambridge University and Oxford University (UK); Nanyang Technological University (Singapore); Tokyo University (Japan); Yonsei University (Korea); Monash University (Australia)...

Overall, the 2023 VinFuture nominations all met the criteria of clearly demonstrating the positive impact they have had, or the potential to bring positive changes to the lives of millions of people.
In addition, there are many nominations in pioneering new fields such as inventions supporting groups of people with disabilities, neurological diseases, cancer, models for controlling material properties, quantum computing, new energy sources, cost-optimized high-tech materials and devices, etc.
It is known that the preliminary round of the VinFuture Prize 2023 will take place from June 1 to September 16 to select impressive and worthy works to enter the final round of consideration.
Core evaluation criteria include the level of progress in science and technology, the positive impact on human life, as well as the scale and sustainability of the project.
