Japanese Yen exchange rate increases strongly again

Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of November 21, 2023 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 157.34 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 166.55 VND/JPY, up 0.79 VND for buying and 0.84 VND for selling. At Vietinbank, the Yen rate increased 0.8 VND for buying and selling, equivalent to 158.85 VND/JPY and 168.55 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the Japanese Yen rate increased 0.72 VND for buying and 0.74 VND for selling, reaching 157.48 VND/JPY and 165.75 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank , the buying and selling rates are 158.80 VND/JPY and 163.74 VND/JPY, up 0.45 VND for buying and 0.48 VND for selling, respectively.

The Japanese Yen exchange rate continues to rise strongly again.

At Eximbank, the buying rate increased by 1.14 VND and the selling rate increased by 1.1 VND, respectively, to 160.62 VND/JPY and 165.11 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the buying rate increased by 1.89 VND and the selling rate increased by 1.87 VND, respectively, to 156.25 VND/JPY and 167.19 VND/JPY. At Sacombank , the buying rate increased by 0.87 VND and the selling rate increased by 0.85 VND, respectively, to 160.13 VND/JPY and 166.70 VND/JPY.

Thus, today Eximbank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Agribank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.

USD price continues to weaken, prolonged decline

Today, November 21, USD/VND exchange rate, USD VCB decreased sharply by 70 VND in both buying and selling directions. World USD fluctuated at 103.43 points.

The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank is adjusted to 23,954 VND/USD, down 18 VND compared to the closing price of the trading session on November 20.

Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,101 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,101 VND/USD.

The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of downward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 23,975 and a selling price of 24,345, down 70 VND compared to the closing price of yesterday's trading session. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.

Pepper prices increased by 500 VND/kg, highest at 71,500 VND/kg

Pepper price today, November 21, in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions increased by 500 VND/kg, ranging from 69,000 - 71,500 VND/kg.

Specifically, pepper prices in the Central Highlands range from 69,000 VND/kg to 70,000 VND/kg, an increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday's pepper price. Of which, Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) is purchased by traders at 69,000 VND/kg, Dak Lak pepper price and Dak Nong pepper price are purchased at 70,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices today, Central Highlands and Southeast regions increased simultaneously.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices range from 71,000 - 71,500 VND/kg. Specifically, Binh Phuoc pepper is purchased at 71,000 VND/kg, while Ba Ria Vung Tau pepper is purchased at 71,500 VND/kg.

According to data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association, in the first 15 days of November 2023, Vietnam exported 9,570 tons of pepper, with a total export turnover of 36.9 million USD.

The US, China and UAE were the three main export markets in the first half of November with export volumes reaching 1,572 tons, 993 tons and 636 tons respectively. Notably, the US and China markets increased imports from Vietnam compared to the first half of the previous month. In the first 15 days of October 2023, Vietnam exported 7,023 tons, of which the US was 1,132 tons and China was 566 tons.
