One of the potential candidates for this position is Coach Roland. He is currently working at Hanoi FC as the head coach of the Hanoi U17 team. Coach Roland does not have an official contract with VFF but affirms that he is always ready to contribute if there is an agreement between Hanoi FC and VFF.
“I am currently the coach of Hanoi U17. This is the first door that has opened for me. As for the future, nothing can be said in advance. I want to contribute to Vietnamese football and accompany the young players if I have the opportunity. I want to contribute to Vietnamese football, especially the young players. In case there is an agreement between Hanoi FC and VFF, I am willing to do my best,” Coach Roland shared.
The Brazilian strategist once accompanied the Vietnam U17 team in the qualifying round and the final round of the 2025 AFC U17 Championship. Under his leadership, the young team had an impressive record with 10 unbeaten matches in both official and friendly matches.
Notably, the Vietnam U17 team drew with Japan U17 and Australia U17 at the Asian finals, and also won against Japan U17 and Uzbekistan U17 in international friendly matches.
