Khusanov has not met expectations.

The Uzbekistan international had a forgettable debut when he made two mistakes in the big match against Chelsea on January 26. Despite that, he was still trusted by coach Pep Guardiola and given more opportunities in the next 5 matches, except the match against Arsenal. However, this could not save his career at Etihad.

Khusanov has not been registered to play in any Premier League matches since March 15. Instead of choosing the Uzbek defender, Guardiola decided to give the opportunity to young player Nico O'Reilly. O'Reilly's stability on the left wing made Guardiola decide to switch to a system of two central defenders, which meant Khusanov was dropped.

AS believes Guardiola cannot risk using Khusanov when Man City has conceded 42 goals this season. Man City's defense is facing many problems and needs to play stably in the crucial period. The Etihad team is competing fiercely with Chelsea and Aston Villa for a ticket to the Champions League next season.

Khusanov had a few flashes of brilliance, particularly in the two legs of the Champions League play-off against Real Madrid, but that hasn't convinced Guardiola to put more faith in him.

Khusanov joined Man City for €40 million, excluding €10 million in add-ons, from Lens. With just five games left in the Premier League, Khusanov's future at Man City is becoming uncertain.

Haaland missed many chances on the day Man City won hard-fought Manchester City won 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the match of round 27 of the Premier League on February 27.
