Schools usually reserve about half of their admission quotas for high school graduation exam scores. Some experts say that this year's exam scores have increased slightly compared to last year, so the benchmark scores will increase. Among them, it is predicted that majors considering the combination of Natural Sciences subjects may increase slightly, while majors considering Social Sciences subjects will increase more.

The order of preferences is very important, because candidates can only be admitted to one school, by one method only, with the highest preference.

Talking about setting preferences, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, advises candidates to set their preferences for the major and school they like best at the highest position, even if their exam scores are lower and they are less confident than that major and school.

Then, the next choices are schools and majors with decreasing levels of preference. Because, if the first choices are not accepted, the system will automatically consider the next choice.

You should not rush to put the major you were admitted to early in your first choice if it is not the major or school you want to study the most, but you can put it in your next choice.

In fact, the Ministry's regulation of unlimited number of wishes as well as the way of considering wishes from high to low aims to create maximum conditions for candidates to study at the best school, in the field of study that matches their interests and desires.

Choosing multiple majors as some candidates often do is not in the right direction and career orientation. Students must determine their major from the beginning, then, based on their exam scores, choose schools that offer that major and register for admission with priority from high to low corresponding to schools with decreasing admission scores.

Major is the direction and career that each person will follow after graduation. You should not choose many majors just to achieve the goal of going to university and then end up having to study a major you don't like.

Choosing a major you are not passionate about will make it difficult for you to develop your abilities both in your studies and in your future work.

In addition to considering the 2024 high school graduation exam scores, the early admission method used by many schools is still considering academic records, international certificates, competency assessment test scores or combining several criteria.

According to regulations, candidates must register all their wishes on the Ministry's common system, including wishes that are eligible for early admission, must also register to be officially recognized as admitted.
