Tuyen Quang: OCOP products make a breakthrough, affirming their brand in the market

With a dynamic and creative approach, Tuyen Quang agriculture has brought OCOP products to consumers faster and more sustainably, gradually asserting its position and being positively received by the market inside and outside the province. Tuyen Quang's continued promotion of the OCOP program plays an important role, as a premise to create products with high added value, contributing to promoting rural economic development.

The OCOP program in Tuyen Quang has fundamentally changed the awareness of the people and subjects about the organization of agricultural production, clearly defining the role of production linkage. At the same time, the program effectively promotes the strength of the community and local identity to create a more diverse source of products, ensuring quality, creating stable jobs, and increasing income for local workers. OCOP products have created a wide spread, gradually affirming the OCOP agricultural product brand of this locality.

As of December 2024, Tuyen Quang province has 221 OCOP products ranked 3 stars or higher by 165 entities. Of which: 189 3-star products, 31 4-star products, 01 potential 5-star product; 114 communes, wards and towns have OCOP products. Recognized and OCOP-ranked products continue to be prioritized for introduction in promotional activities, trade promotion, support for posting on e-commerce platforms, connecting and linking safe product consumption on e-commerce platforms such as: Sendo, Voso, PostMart, Cuccu, Shopee... such as: Ham Yen orange, Huong Rung honey, Shan Tuyet tea, Khau Mut tea...

The goal is to strive by the end of 2025 for the whole province to have more than 230 OCOP products of 3 stars or higher; 138/138 communes, wards and towns have OCOP products of 3 stars or higher; each district/city has at least 1 OCOP product of 5 stars.

Tuyen Quang's OCOP products are currently the preferred choice of people inside and outside the province. For example, black pork sausage products in Thuong Lam commune (Lam Binh), every time the traditional Tet holiday comes, every household and person is busy making sausages for home use and as gifts for relatives and friends.

Grasping that need, the Cooperative (HTX) in Thuong Lam commune with 5 members, has started producing sausage. In 2023, the Thuong Lam black pork sausage product was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a 3-star OCOP standard product. According to some members of the Cooperative, to make fresh and delicious sausages with the flavor of Thuong Lam black pork, the maker must be dedicated and not simply pursue profit. If in the past, sausage production and trading members only produced by hand, now all stages are done by machine. The product is vacuum-sealed and beautifully packaged, making it a meaningful gift for the coming New Year and Spring.

Or the green bean black tea bag product of the Agricultural Cooperative in Chiem Hoa district has also been recognized as achieving 4-star OCOP quality. After 2 years of participating in the OCOP Program, the product has brought positive values, contributing to enhancing the brand of the Cooperative's products. Currently, the green bean black tea bag product is available in 52/63 provinces and cities.

In particular, in 2024, green bean tea bags were selected as one of the seven agricultural products selected for export to the UK market. To maintain and expand the market, in the coming time, the Cooperative will continue to improve the product and enhance the quality of tea. The goal of the OCOP Program is to develop advantageous agricultural, non-agricultural, and service products in each locality according to the value chain.

With the preference for OCOP agricultural products of people inside and outside the province, the sectors and localities of Tuyen Quang province have reviewed and mobilized production establishments and economic entities with potential products to support, guide, orient, and advise on upgrading and perfecting products towards quality standardization; building brands, promoting trade, and advertising products. Thereby, hundreds of production entities have focused on investing in improving quality, perfecting product criteria, and making efforts to improve market development skills for products.

To date, the province has 221 OCOP products that have been evaluated and classified from 3 to 4 stars. In particular, there is 1 Shan Tuyet tea product (Na Hang district) waiting to be upgraded to 5 stars. Most of the OCOP products are of good quality, beautiful designs, have completed food hygiene and safety certification standards, collective trademarks, have brought benefits to both producers and consumers and gradually affirmed the brand of Tuyen agricultural products.

The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuyen Quang informed that in recent times, the OCOP Program in the province has achieved certain results, creating a widespread influence throughout the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level; awareness of the subjects about the meaning and importance of developing OCOP products has been significantly raised; promoting the strength and role of the community in preserving and developing traditional local products.

At the same time, creating jobs, increasing income for rural people, promoting agricultural and rural economic development. In the coming time, in order for the province's OCOP products to establish a firm foothold in the market, the provincial Department of Agriculture will coordinate with other sectors and localities to continue to promote and support entities in exploiting and upgrading products; at the same time, be ready to support entities to expand production when the products have dominated the consumer market.

In addition, the provincial Department of Agriculture will also promote the application of digital economy in the implementation of OCOP products to facilitate trade promotion and stabilize product output. With the goal of increasing the value of agricultural production, developing agriculture in a sustainable direction, creating many high-quality and typical products, promoting the potential advantages of each locality, Tuyen Quang province has promoted the implementation of the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program. After being recognized, OCOP products have increased in value, competitive advantages, expanded markets, contributed to increasing revenue, profits, and creating jobs for local workers.

Tuyen Quang province commits to always accompany and create favorable conditions for businesses inside and outside the province, support preferential mechanisms and policies, as well as trade promotion programs, helping Tuyen Quang province's products access domestic and foreign markets.

In addition, fair activities are regularly organized to attract businesses, cooperatives and people to bring OCOP products to display and exhibit at the fair to promote the quality and design of local OCOP products to the people in the province as well as the whole country.../.
