Entering this match, Indonesia fielded their strongest lineup. In goal, goalkeeper Ernando Ari was trusted from the start. Indonesia's three defenders included Jordi Amat, Rizky Ridho and Elkan Baggott. The team's midfield quartet included Ivar Jenner, Justin Hubner, Yakob Sayuri and Pratama. The three attacking players were Rafael Struick, Witan Sulaeman and Marselino Ferdinand.

It can be seen that coach Shin Tae Yong used most of the best naturalized players. Indonesia started the game better. Right in the 6th minute, the team from the archipelago had the opening goal. Ivar Jenner made a cross into the penalty area for Yakob Sayuri to run in and score a goal that burned the Libyan net.

However, Indonesia's excitement did not last long. Defensive mistakes cost them. In the 9th minute, Osama Elsharimi scored the equalizer for Libya with a very powerful shot. Indonesia's defense made mistakes in marking, leaving many gaps in this goal.

In the 20th minute, Rizky Ridho carelessly passed the ball back to the goalkeeper, creating conditions for Ahmed Ekrawa to score, helping Libya take a 2-1 lead.

In the following period, Libya controlled the ball better. Meanwhile, Indonesia could not attack. The African team scored once against Indonesia but the referee did not recognize it because of offside.

The score of 2-1 in favor of Libya remained until the end of the match. Thus, Indonesia lost to Libya in both friendly matches.

They have a friendly match against Iran on January 9, before entering the 2023 Asian Cup. They will play their opening match against Iraq on January 15. On January 19, coach Shin Tae Yong's team will face the Vietnamese team.
