The total investment capital for the entire ADC line is up to 290 million USD with the cooperation of 9 leading telecommunications corporations including Viettel (Vietnam), Softbank (Japan), Tata (India), Singtel (Singapore), China Telecommunications Corporation, China Telecom Global, China Unicom (China), National Telecom (Thailand), PLDT (Philippines). Viettel is the only unit in Vietnam participating in investing in this cable line.
ADC is an undersea optical cable system with a length of about 9,800 km, connecting 7 countries and territories including Vietnam, China, Hong Kong (China), Thailand, Philippines, Singapore and Japan.
The maximum capacity of ADC is 50 Tbps, the largest in Vietnam and equal to 125% of the total international connection capacity of all 5 active submarine optical cable lines (IA, AAE-1, APG, AGG, SMW-3). ADC also has a higher speed than previous systems.
In the immediate future, Viettel will put into use a portion of the capacity on the ADC line to improve international connectivity, meet new data demands and enhance customer experience when using Internet services.
With ADC, Viettel increases the international connection reserve, increases the number of cable routes and international connection directions, ensuring Vietnam's connection needs when there is a submarine optical cable break.
ADC not only helps ensure network security, but also strengthens digital infrastructure to meet services requiring high speed and large bandwidth such as AI, 5G, Bigdata, AR/VR.
Viettel Networks Corporation, the unit directly constructing and operating the ADC submarine cable line in Quy Nhon, is the focal point responsible for managing Viettel's entire telecommunications and IT infrastructure globally. In the Group's strategy of "Pioneering and leading the way in creating a digital society", Viettel Networks aims to build the largest and most modern digital infrastructure in Vietnam on the basis of modern 5G technology, cloud computing infrastructure, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data.
