TWO MONTHS OF "SUFFERING"
Following his promising performance at the 2023 Asian Cup, particularly his individual impact while playing for the Vietnamese national team, Dinh Bac has been mentioned a lot. Unfortunately for him, he continues to be talked about because of behind-the-scenes stories.

First, there was the internal disciplinary action taken by the Quang Nam team against Dinh Bac for reporting to training later than the club's regulations stipulated. Other stories related to his lack of discipline were also indirectly shared through word of mouth or social media. As a result, prejudices against him only grew stronger.
Shortly after returning from an internal suspension, Quang Nam FC and Dinh Bac received a loan offer from Hanoi FC. The Quang Nam team agreed, and Dinh Bac even went to train with Hanoi FC. However, he ultimately refused to sign a one-and-a-half-year contract with the capital city team. According to our sources, Hanoi FC was willing to let him take the lead in negotiations. They also offered a salary five times higher than that of a 19-20 year old player. Yet, he still firmly refused, as his wish was to play only half a season for Hanoi FC before making a decision about his future.
Unable to reach an agreement with Dinh Bac, Hanoi FC decided to cancel the initial contract. Before returning to Quang Nam FC, the player endured two disastrous matches with the Vietnamese national team, suffering bitter defeats against Indonesia in both legs of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Dinh Bac broke down in tears, feeling helpless against his opponents. Perhaps this reflects the pent-up emotions the player had been suppressing for some time.

Dinh Bac returned to the Quang Nam team when the second half of the 2023-2024 V-League season began. He was a substitute for the entire match when the Quang Nam team lost to Viettel The Cong 2-3. He was given the opportunity to play in the second half when Quang Nam drew 1-1 with LPBank HAGL. Not playing as well as expected by coach Van Sy Son, he received harsh criticism from his coach in an interview with the press.

The story didn't end there. A day later, a newspaper reported that Dinh Bac had agreed to a preliminary deal with the Hanoi Police Football Club (CAHN). The source even claimed that the player had received a "deposit" of 3.5 billion VND, in a deal expected to last three years with the police team. This sparked mixed reactions from the public regarding Dinh Bac and the possibility of him joining CAHN. However, it's important to consider the situation objectively: CAHN has not issued any official statement regarding Dinh Bac. Furthermore, Quang Nam FC has not confirmed any information about whether CAHN has contacted them.
It's important to emphasize that according to FIFA transfer regulations, if Club A wants to recruit a player with more than six months remaining on their contract with Club B, the two clubs must meet and negotiate. Only after agreeing on all terms can Club A contact the player they are interested in. According to a well-known agent in the V-League, the story of CAHN Club "putting a deposit" on Dinh Bac could completely provoke a negative reaction from the police team. Quang Nam FC is ready to sue Dinh Bac and CAHN Club for the aforementioned "underhanded" dealings if it actually happens. Of course, the news of Dinh Bac's transfer is only a rumor, but it has created a strong wave on social media and will more or less affect Dinh Bac as he is currently training with the Vietnam U23 team preparing for the 2024 U23 Asian Championship.
Coach Van Sy Son recently revealed that Dinh Bac still has 5-6 years left on his contract with Quang Nam FC. Naturally, if nothing happens, he will continue to play for the Quang Nam team. If a club genuinely wants him, they will have to negotiate with Quang Nam FC and buy out the remaining part of his contract before contacting the player. Not long ago, Binh Dinh FC sent a letter to Quang Nam FC expressing their desire to secure Dinh Bac's services for the 2024-2025 season.
