Reporting at the conference, Mr. Le Chu Giang, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of the Elderly, assessed: "The work of the elderly in the city in recent years has achieved many impressive achievements. The Party Committee, government, and the City Fatherland Front always pay attention to the elderly and elderly organizations".

However, Mr. Giang highly appreciated the elderly people in Ho Chi Minh City for their resilience and spirit of work and dedication.

He emphasized: "It can be said that the city's elderly are not only the subjects of interest and policy, but also an important factor contributing to the city's development process."

Mr. Le Chu Giang reviewed the regular and exemplary activities of the elderly such as doing business, participating in maintaining order, culture and arts, sports, exercising and actively participating in volunteer movements...

Recognizing the contributions of the city's elderly population, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to pay attention to and build strong elderly organizations, promote the role of the elderly, and effectively implement social security.

Mr. Le Van Thinh, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, commented: "In the context of population aging, with the rapid increase in the number of elderly people, the near future will be the era of the elderly."

Therefore, Mr. Thinh said: "The issue of unified action for the interests of the elderly needs to be given attention and placed first. The new context poses new requirements for work for the elderly."
