The "Journey to the Red Address in 2025" program of the youth of Thanh Son district at the Vietnam Military History Museum.
Although he didn't live through the sacred historical moment of the "Great Victory Day" on April 30, 1975, Mr. Vi Huu Thu, a history teacher at Nguyen Binh Khiem High School in Ha Hoa district, is always deeply moved and touched when he hears, reads stories, and watches documentaries about the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. In his lectures, he always emphasizes to his students the pride in the great victories of the nation.
“April 30, 1975, was the day the Vietnamese people celebrated a triumphant victory, reuniting the country and achieving peace. Every year, on this day, I always feel a sense of nostalgia and emotion, and a clearer understanding of the value of peace, recognizing my role and responsibility in contributing to building and protecting the nation. My colleagues and I, especially the younger ones, always strive to fulfill the noble task of ‘nurturing future generations.’ In each of our lessons, we incorporate revolutionary tradition education for students, reminding them of the victory of April 30, 1975, ‘passing on the torch’ so that generations of students will cherish the past, continue writing the future, and build a more prosperous and beautiful homeland,” Mr. Thu shared.
Sharing the same feelings of pride and emotion, Nguyen Viet Hai, a youth union member from Van Xuan commune, Tam Nong district, said: "The historic victory of April 30, 1975, represents the glorious achievements of our forefathers, earned through bloodshed and sacrifice, which I learned about from books and documents. My grandparents were also soldiers of Uncle Ho, dedicating their youth and strength to the Fatherland. I always remind myself that there are days that must never be forgotten. Therefore, I will always strive to study, work creatively, hone my skills, actively participate in economic development and community activities, and contribute to building my homeland and country."
Ha Khanh Chi, a student in the 11th grade specializing in French at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, said: "We are the young generation living in an era of national progress. Through the lessons of History and the media, I feel as if I have witnessed the arduous, sacrificial, yet glorious and magnificent struggles of our ancestors. I am always proud of our nation's heroic history, and even though I am still in school, I always tell myself that I will constantly strive to study, train, and cultivate myself well to become a useful member of society."
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, youth organizations have also organized many activities such as: journeys to historical sites, thematic sessions to learn about the revolutionary traditions of our army and people; caring for, preserving, and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics; organizing visits and providing assistance to families of policy beneficiaries and those who have made contributions... From there, they educate about traditions and encourage the younger generation to actively train, cultivate, study, and work to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, continue writing the glorious history of the nation; promote the spirit of initiative, volunteerism, and creativity, contributing to building a more civilized, prosperous, and beautiful homeland.
