The meeting and exchange program "50 years of total victory for us" was organized by the People's Army Newspaper in coordination with agencies and units at the Reunification Hall (Independence Palace relic) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Each young officer and soldier of the armed forces units in the South as well as students in Ho Chi Minh City expressed their luck and pride in meeting witnesses who are like living history. In them, their contributions and sacrifices for independence, freedom and reunification are lasting lessons for today's young generation to follow.

As a young officer of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces participating in the exchange, Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Truong An, Political Commissar of the Gia Dinh Regiment shared: “When listening to the generals, the People's Armed Forces Heroes, and veterans recall the glorious battles and silent sacrifices at the meeting and exchange program "50 years of total victory for us", I felt like I was living in the flow of history, touching the pages of history with blood and tears but full of glory. I was truly moved by the exchange and sharing of 3 witnesses who were members of the crew of tank number 390 that crashed into the gate of the Independence Palace on the historic day of April 30, 1975. I realized that this was not only an opportunity to meet and exchange but also a profound reminder of the responsibility of each young officer and soldier today to live up to the previous generation of fathers and brothers".

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Truong An, himself and the young officers and soldiers must continue to train a strong political stance, promote the heroic tradition of our Army in general, of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces, and the Gia Dinh Regiment in particular in building a strong and comprehensive unit that is "Exemplary and exemplary". As for Captain Hua Truong Thinh, lecturer of the Ammunition Department, Military Technical Officer School (General Department of Logistics - Engineering), the meeting and exchange program "50 years of total victory for us" is a meaningful activity, helping the younger generation better understand the heroic history of the nation and the great sacrifices of our predecessors for the peace and unification of the country as it is today. He was also impressed with the stories shared by two People's Armed Forces Heroes: Senior Lieutenant General, Academician Nguyen Huy Hieu, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of National Defense and Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Tien Trung, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Director of the National Defense Academy.

As a lecturer at the Military School, Captain Hua Truong Thinh sees more clearly the responsibility in imparting knowledge and the morality of “remembering the source of water”, fostering revolutionary ideals and patriotism for students - those who will continue to build and defend the Fatherland. “The historical stories learned from today's program will be useful knowledge to make our lesson plans and lectures more vivid and profound. We always remember and are grateful for the sacrifices of previous generations, while constantly training our qualities and improving our qualifications to contribute to continuing the glorious tradition of determination to fight and victory of our Army”, Mr. Thinh shared.

Wearing the uniform of the heroic Navy, student Nguyen Trong Nhan (Naval Technical College) expressed his happiness when he saw, heard, and touched the witnesses of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign 50 years ago. “Looking at the determined eyes and white hair of those who went before me, I understand that today's peace is the result of boundless efforts, sweat, blood and irreplaceable losses.
