On April 15, 7 members of the youth volunteer team of De Tham commune, Trang Dinh district supported Mr. Nong Van Huan's family in Ban Quyen village to build a new house. Specifically, the youth union members helped the family transport bricks and sand from the gathering place to the construction site, cut bamboo, make scaffolding, and props... Before that, the youth union members also supported his family in clearing the land to prepare for construction. Mr. Huan shared: The construction materials were gathered quite far from the construction site, while my wife and I are old and weak, so we cannot do it. Thanks to the regular help of the youth, the construction progress is guaranteed.
Not only helping Mr. Nong Van Huan's family, recently, the Youth Union in the province has participated in supporting many other families in the process of demolishing temporary and dilapidated houses.
Mr. Doan Thanh Cong, Deputy Secretary in charge of the Provincial Youth Union, said: Responding to the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has issued a document directing youth organizations throughout the province to step up propaganda about the movement; mobilize young union members to actively participate in contributing working days and call for and mobilize resources from organizations and individuals inside and outside the province.
Accordingly, the Youth Union chapters from the province to the grassroots have proactively consulted with the Party Committee and the government to undertake the task of supporting and helping families repair and build houses; at the same time, integrating support activities into peak campaigns such as: "Winter Volunteer", "Spring Volunteer", "Youth Month". Promoting their role, the Youth Union organizations at all levels have strengthened connections, mobilized organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to support funding, supplies, and construction materials; established many volunteer teams to promptly grasp the wishes, needs and support households.
Ms. Luong Thu Huong, Deputy Secretary in charge of Trang Dinh District Youth Union, informed: To contribute to the effective implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district, the District Youth Union directed each Youth Union to establish at least one youth volunteer team to support the people. This work has received the response of 100% of the Youth Union and a large number of Youth Union members participating, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the Youth Union organization in the district. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the District Youth Union has supported the elimination of 55 temporary and dilapidated houses with more than 1,800 working days, attracting more than 600 Youth Union members to participate; the District Youth Union also received and mobilized about 160 million VND to support households.
Since the beginning of 2025, all levels of the Youth Union in the province have coordinated to support the elimination of 320 temporary and dilapidated houses, mobilizing more than 3,000 working days with the participation of more than 1,800 Youth Union members. In addition, the Youth Union organizations have also mobilized nearly 300 million VND from philanthropists, organizations, businesses, and individuals inside and outside the province to support households in especially difficult circumstances. The joint efforts of Lang Son youth have been contributing to speeding up the construction progress, handing over the works soon, meeting the living needs and expectations of the people.
In the coming time, based on the number of temporary and dilapidated houses in need of support in localities, the Provincial Youth Union will continue to propagate and mobilize young union members to actively participate in supporting working days, while calling for socialized resources to contribute to the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. This is not only a humane and practical activity that contributes to improving the lives of people in difficult circumstances, but also a clear demonstration of the spirit of volunteerism of young people in building new rural areas and ensuring social security.
