The books of the journalists are displayed at 2 booths on Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, providing an opportunity for readers to consult and read good books by journalists.

Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung said: "The Book Week event for journalists further strengthens the relationship between journalism and publishing. I would like to thank Ho Chi Minh City Book Street for creating conditions for the organization to display the books of journalists in a very solemn and aesthetic manner."

Journalist Tran Trong Dung added: "In nearly 1 month of announcement, the organizing committee has received books and is displaying 281 titles (291 books) at Book Street, including 55 works from 7 press agencies, 226 works (236 books) from 105 reporters, 15 groups of authors who have worked and are working at newspapers across the country. Journalist tells stories and writes books

After the opening ceremony, the organizing committee held many exchange activities with famous journalists such as Le Minh Quoc, Lai Van Long, Bui Phan Thao, Bui Tieu Quyen, etc. The journalists affirmed that when entering the field of writing, one must clearly distinguish between the mindset of a writer and a journalist because the nature of literature and journalism are different.

Journalist and author Hoang Hai Van shares about the book The Mysterious Intelligence General and the Super Mission

On the afternoon of June 17, journalist Hoang Hai Van also interacted with readers about the book The Mysterious Intelligence General and the Super Mission revolving around untold stories about the mysterious intelligence officer Dang Tran Duc (Mr. Ba Quoc, the affectionate name his teammates call him).

Mr. Ba Quoc's career is a valuable asset in the treasure trove of Vietnamese political science and intelligence. During the talk, author Hoang Hai Van mentioned Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Mr. Ba Quoc's excellent student, who also directly led him and journalist Tan Tu to meet Mr. Ba Quoc, "guarantoring" him to get materials to write articles. In 2004, Thanh Nien Newspaper ran a series of 36 issues about the character Ba Quoc, and when it was printed into a book, only 2 months later, the book was reprinted. According to the author, in this reprint, he added many valuable materials to the book.

When readers asked about the "valuable details" in this reprint, author Hoang Hai Van laughed and said that there were some "creepy" things to read. The events of Mr. Ba Quoc rescuing Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (later the Party General Secretary) and 9 special zone members of Saigon - Gia Dinh from being pursued by secret police, saving Prince Norodom Sihanouk from death in an assassination attempt, wiping out all spy nests planted by the enemy in the North, providing important military reports from the Saigon Army General Staff to the headquarters, and discovering many traitors in our ranks... were revealed in the book.

The lively exchanges within the framework of the Journalists' Book Week not only helped readers better understand the works of journalists, but also learn about the hardships, concerns, and working/writing process of journalists to bring their works to readers.

To encourage the creative activities of journalists, the organizing committee awarded commemorative medals to journalists whose books won high awards from Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Government: Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hai, Duong Thanh Truyen, Khuynh Diep, Nguyen Hong Lam, Le Minh Quoc, Lai Van Long, Bui Phan Thao, Bui Tieu Quyen.

All books displayed during the week will be donated to the Vietnam Journalism Museum and the Faculty of Journalism, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City after the week ends.

On the morning of June 18, there will be an exchange session for Journalists writing books with the guests being famous journalists: Duong Thanh Truyen, Nguyen Khac Cuong, Trung Nghia, Ho Huy Son. On the afternoon of June 18, there will be an exchange session on the topic Journalism is the first draft of history - A reporter's journey through the world of strangers with the participation of journalist Nguyen Hong Lam and translator Y Khuong.
