Self-proclaimed 'destructive punch', Thailand's top expert was knocked down by a punch.
Yodlekpet Or.Atchariya, born in 1994, is one of Thailand's top flyweight Muay Thai fighters. During his 10-year career, Yodlekpet has lost 27 matches, but it was not until last weekend that he experienced the feeling of being knocked out for the first time.
The 30-year-old boxer is nicknamed "the punch of destruction". However, it was also the punch that knocked Yodlekpet down in the match with Jawsuayai Sor.Dechaphan. The boxer born in 2001 specializes in kicks and knees. However, surprisingly, Jawsuayai mainly used punches in this match, even though this was his opponent's strength.
In the middle of round 3, after successfully defending, Jawsuayai suddenly launched 3 consecutive punches that Yodlekpet was unable to react to. The boxer nicknamed "the punch of destruction" fell backwards, sat on the floor and showed signs of losing consciousness.
Yodlekpet tried to get up. However, the referee quickly realized the boxer's abnormal condition and decided to stop the match, awarding the victory to Jawsuayai by knockout.
Despite being less experienced than his senior, Jawsuayai is actually no pushover. Before switching to Muay Thai, the 2001-born boxer reached the finals of a World Grand Prix kickboxing tournament. In 2021, Jawsuayai was ranked 5th in the world in the Super Flyweight category (or super flyweight - 52 kg).
Meanwhile, Yodlekpet is no longer at his peak. Since September 2023, the boxer nicknamed "Destructive Punch" has fought 6 times but suffered 4 defeats.
