Students in Bao Lam district perform gymnastics in response to the "Healthy Children" Movement in 2025 |
For many years, programs such as "Circle of Friends", "Fund for Poor Friends", "Lighting up the Dreams of Bao Lam Children" have become a place for children in the district to share. Through the Tran Quoc Toan Movement, in 2024, hundreds of classes, teams, and members of the Youth Union and youth have organized and donated nearly 500 million VND, thousands of clothes, books, school supplies, etc. to help 1,507 children in difficult circumstances to go to school.
In the “Small Plan” movement alone, children have contributed more than 120 million VND, carried out 91 projects and youth work, and built 2 Red Scarf houses from their own savings. These seemingly small actions have contributed to creating a positive and humane image for the work of the Young Pioneers and the local children’s movement.
Tran Phuong Linh - a student of class 5A2, the leader of the Tran Hung Dao Primary School's Youth Union, shared: "At first, I just thought I was doing a small thing to help my friend, but when I saw my friend receiving help, I felt very happy because I had done something useful. I realized that, even though they are just small things, if done with a sincere heart, they will bring joy to everyone. Every time I participate in activities like this, I feel like I can do many good things for the people around me."
The Tran Quoc Toan movement in Bao Lam is not only about gifts or donations but also a foundation to educate children about patriotism, revolutionary traditions and national pride. Activities such as the "Healthy Children - Stepping Up to the Union" Festival, the "Doing Good Work with Me Every Day" program, scholarship awarding sessions, career counseling or folk games... are regularly held at schools, creating an environment for training and comprehensive development for team members.
With rich content and close implementation, the Tran Quoc Toan Movement in Bao Lam district is contributing to shaping good values for today's generation of children. Each part of the youth work is not only a sharing with friends but also an opportunity for children to train themselves, learn how to live responsibly and humanely from the simplest things.
From these small experiences, many students have formed positive thoughts about sharing and contributing. Ka Sa Ra Uyen, a student of class 7A2, Tran Phu Secondary School, confided: “At first, I just thought that contributing a few items or helping friends was a simple thing. But every time I participate in such activities, I feel joy not only from helping friends, but also from seeing them happy, grateful and spreading positive energy. I feel like I learn many useful things from these simple things. These small but meaningful actions help me understand that sharing and contributing are not big things, but are easy things to do every day.”
Not only stopping at daily volunteer activities, the movement has also spread widely through major festivals of the Team - Youth Union and traditional education activities at schools. The bustling atmosphere in the team member admission ceremonies, tradition review ceremonies, meetings with historical witnesses or thematic activities have become meeting places connecting generations, igniting pride and a sense of dedication in each young team member.
Regarding the spread of the movement, Bao Lam District Youth Union Secretary Le Xuan Vu assessed: “The Tran Quoc Toan movement is not only an activity of the Youth Union or a few schools, but has become a widespread action movement among young people in the whole district. The valuable thing is that the children are increasingly proactive in doing good deeds every day. That is the foundation for forming the personality, ideals and sense of responsibility for the young generation. This movement not only contributes to raising community awareness but also helps children practice valuable qualities, preparing for a stable and responsible future. These activities will be important provisions to help children develop not only intellectually but also in terms of personality, to become useful citizens for society”.
From a movement named after the typical patriotic young man in history, Tran Quoc Toan, to the beautiful actions every day today, it can be seen that the spirit of patriotism and the sense of dedication are clearly present in the daily lives of the children. At Bao Lam, that spirit is being quietly nurtured through each small task, contributing to creating a generation of children who live beautifully and responsibly towards the community and their homeland.
