According to the Bac Lieu Province Hydrometeorological Station, from April 25 to May 2, 2025, a new high tide will appear in the East Sea (the first high tide of the fourth lunar month). The highest peak tide at the Ganh Hao Hydrological Station on April 29 is forecast to exceed alert level 3 (2.20m) by about 20cm. This is a high tide with strong intensity and large tidal amplitude (ranging from 3.0 - 4.3m) combined with strong East to Southeast winds operating in the sea area of the province, which will increase the risk of deep saltwater intrusion into the fields, flooding, landslides in low-lying areas, areas outside the dike, along rivers, along the coast... and especially in areas with large and vulnerable loads. The warning level of natural disaster risk due to flooding is level 2.
Districts, cities, especially coastal localities need to closely monitor the developments of high tides to proactively deploy professional measures to limit negative impacts caused by high tides.
High tide caused local flooding in Nha Mat ward (Bac Lieu city).
