From today, April 21, officially register for the 2025 high school graduation exam

From April 21 to 5 p.m. on April 28, candidates nationwide officially registered to take the high school graduation exam. This is the first year that candidates studying the 2018 generaleducation program will take the high school graduation exam. Meanwhile, there are still candidates who studied the 2006 general education program who will also take the exam this year to graduate or get points for university and college admission.

What does the profile include?

According to the 2025 high school graduation exam regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training , candidates' application documents include an exam registration form, valid certificates (if any) for candidates to receive priority points, incentive points, and a 4x6cm portrait photo taken within the last 6 months.

Candidates who have completed general education or continuing education but have not graduated in previous years must have a copy of their transcript.

Candidates who have graduated from high school and are only taking the exam to get the results of university or college admission must have a copy of their high school diploma. Candidates who have graduated from secondary school and are taking the exam to get the results of university or college admission must have a copy of their secondary school diploma, a copy of their academic record or transcript of high school cultural subjects according to current regulations.

Candidates who are eligible to reserve their exam scores from the previous year must have a certificate of reserved scores issued by the principal of the high school (where the candidate took the exam last year) or the Department of Education and Training (in the locality where the candidate took the exam last year).

How do candidates register for the graduation exam ?

Candidates who are 12th grade high school students or continuing education students this year register for the exam online. Candidates will fill out the application on the electronic information portal prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training and submit the original or copies of supporting documents to enjoy priority and incentives for the place of registration for the exam.

Independent candidates will register for the exam online by using their VNeID account to log in and fill out the exam registration form at the electronic information portal prescribed by the Ministry. Candidates will then print out the exam registration form downloaded from the system in 2 copies and submit them to the exam registration location along with copies of supporting documents to enjoy priority and incentive regimes (if any).

Candidates who cannot register for the exam online can submit their application directly. Accordingly, candidates fill out the application form according to the form issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and submit it to the registration location with copies of evidence to enjoy preferential treatment and incentives (if any).

During the process of registering for exams, preliminary registration, and university and college admissions, candidates must use a unified type of identification document: ID card/citizen identification card/personal identification/passport number.

During the registration period, candidates wishing to apply for university or college admission must declare on the software complete and correct information with evidence to enjoy priority in admission according to regulations.

How to register for the exam?

Candidates who have not graduated from high school will have to register for 4 subjects including literature, math and an optional test including 2 subjects from the following subjects: physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, economic education and law, information technology, industrial technology, agricultural technology, foreign language. Candidates can register for a foreign language other than the foreign language they are studying in high school.

Candidates who have a High School Diploma and candidates who have a secondary school diploma who take the exam to use the results as a basis for admission registration only register for the exam subjects according to their wishes. For the optional exam, candidates can only choose a maximum of 2 subjects.

The high school graduation exam will take place on June 26 and 27. The results of the exam are expected to be announced on July 16 for high school graduation, and candidates will use the exam results for university and college admission.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will still be assigned to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to take full responsibility for the stages of printing, invigilation, grading, and inspection of the exam. The Ministry of Education and Training will create a common exam for candidates nationwide and send inspection teams to 63 provinces and cities during the exam and grading period.
